Why he here?

Because it’s the off season - this is when they win their grand finals.

AFL giving them players they have no right to because they’re terrified they’ll end up where West Coast/North are and the tarps will be back and they’ll have to keep giving them money to keep them afloat.

Why do you think they dropped this news 1 hr after giving the 2026 fixture? They want as little coverage as possible.

Port fixture to get them top 4. Now they also get the best kid in the country in 2026
Ports list is terrible, they are not making finals any time soon.

They will probably have a top 4 pick of their own next year anyway, so potential could have taken Cochrane anyway.

Do you know how far back the link is?
No, but this article doesn't make it sound too recent: "He told the AFL that recent information has come to light of their Indigenous family heritage from his maternal side and originated somewhere around the Riverina region, indicating that his bloodline may well be Wiradjuri."

It could be good for the pear, but there is also a full 13 months until he is eligible for the draft.

Have seen far too many 'potential #1 picks' fall dramatically in a year. Ashton Moir comes to mind. It also seems as though Dyson Sharp is slipping from the top 10.

Yep, the standard SA draftee story

Dominate some underage competition, feature in all the 'top 10' lists for the next draft crop, then slide massively in the U18 year and potentially even perform worse than their eventual draft position

Contract year
Soft draw
Umps love him

Butters @ $34 for Brownlow - get on
He’s too much of a campaigner.. massive risk of “suspension ruling him out” is a factor that makes betting on him pointless no matter how good the odds..

We need to have someone at the club chucking into the ancestry of all potential players available to the Crows...
Should we invent ancestry to suit as well?
Port are the most morally corrupt club in Australia. They will constantly cheat any and all rules to give themselves an advantage. They will go against any ethical or moral codes. They are disgusting.

Not sure I want to follow anything they do.

No clubs should get freebies

It has to be earned/legitimate. The Michalanneys have blue, red and gold blood running through their veins and Max practically lived down at the club since he was a toddler

There’s no downside for them though

Has he ever been rubbed out? Just cops fines

Ideally they finish 7th or 8th next year so their F1 has a lower value and then it becomes tricky for them to match a bid at pick 1 or 2 as they can only use 2 picks (I think thats the new rule coming in) to match the bid so will need to get another 1st rounder from somewhere. If Butters leaves, no problems they will get that, but if he doesn't.....that 2027 1st won't hold much value and getting another one will be come very tough.

The disaster (from our end) would be for them to finish bottom 2 and get a pick in ahead of a Cochrane bid and therefore get 2 top end talents.

The picks they need for he and Z.Pilot will make their chase for NWM harder again.

Why are you so upset - embrace the love over the next 15 years mate

Welfare behavior from the welfare club. AFL let the rort through because they know that you fickle inbreds stop attending games once they realise how terrible you are. The only benefit this has to you is that the AFL are effectively making you use top picks for once instead of trading them out for journymen 'missing pieces'.

True.

More in response to the pork chop from the pear board who was on here saying how good their next 15 years is gonna be because of a 17 year old who is 18 months out from the possibility of lacing up the boots at AFL level.

They already have Butters, Rozee and Horne-Francis and just finished 13th

Port are not one good player away from a flag
