So do Ben Rutten's 2 sons Jack and Bernie suit up for the old man's SANFL team West Adelaide in the U18's and U16's in 2026?

Whilst we do have a few south Aussies involved with the club, it's a bit of a shame to miss out on truck, scott thompson and goodwin, we don't seem to celebrate what the club represents.

Same with the trade period in my opinion a minimum of one SA player should be brought back each year even if a role player just to emphasise what we're about.

Confusing statement this, as if there's anything that's guaranteed to rile this board up ....it's the old "Jobs for The Boys" argument

I understand the importance of cultural heritage ....but for me, it's always best person for the job ....if that's an ex Crowee, great

Burton though, did provide a huge amount of ammunition for the "Jobs For The Boys" argument

So let’s say there are 5 average SA boys who want to come back to SA and one really good interstate guy, and you want us to ignore talent just to bring home a South Aussie? I don’t believe that will actually help our club get the success it’s chasing!

How ya doing Wayne and that's true, but i think those guys have been away from the club to get their experience and been to the top too, so hard to make the case they're not qualified

Draft wise you have to go for talent of course but i'd only trade for SA guys there's plenty available we just never paid the wages.

We are basically the tv market defacto state team for the vfl, we should celebrate it, Victorian clubs should be frightened to draft an SA lad

Boys that never went anywhere we don't like. Boys that have gone out to other clubs and other environments for a while (and ideally done well) are fine.

So, has Rutten any credentials as a Footy Manager ? .....assistant coach, failed senior coach ....and the negative on him at ESS was he's very quiet and lacked strength

That said, our footy manager can't even reach those credential levels

Three year ban for doping for Rhys Mathieson.

Rutten did way more when way less supported than what Scott has. Miles in front of him. Where does that put him?
