What I hate about the AFL at the moment summed up in one video

Jackson grabs the ball, he then feels the opposition player grab him so he just drops the ball to the ground and flails his arms to get a free kick.

Pretty much every team now has a player or two who does this, if players are dropping the ball like that it should never be a free kick.

It's as much of a blight on the game as the Selwood arm lift which has been adopted across the league.

Not watching, but 5 touches, no marks and no goals doesn’t seem that great?
he’s doing a fair bit of ruck work.. not much playing as a forward at all..

some of his tap work actually looks pretty decent.. and he’s done a couple of nice things.

Brisbane again go scoreless for nearly a whole quarter.

Won’t win a final if they have to play away from home.

Downhill skiers.

They do go missing in the crucial games, even at home. So this is a make or break season for Brisbane no doubt about it.

So who had the inside word earlier this week that we were looking at maybe trading in Weideman from the dees?..

He’s playing alright tonight..
I don’t think it was inside word, someone listed him for some reason and I said I wouldn’t mind trading him in and it went from there.

Brisbane can be ruled out. They don't have the mentality for the big stage and their midfield doesn't run deep enough.

As good as Brisbane are you can never trust them because they're prone to getting the yips in big games.

In a way they remind me a bit of us back in 2005/06

Brisbane aren't up to it. They have the quality players they just don't have the guts and determination to haul themselves out of a big hole.

They are team of we'll back in our own game plan to the detriment of the team, they'll keep playing like that even if it isn't working.

What do Brisbane do about their coach if they finish top 2/4 again and flop in finals? Are they compelled to make a change to try and strike whilst they’re still in the window or does Fagan keep his job and they change personnel?

They back him in and surround him with what he feels he needs

If they believe - and the feedback says - the players are still listening then bringing a fresh perspective may be the way to go

Yeah Brisbane showing up as pretenders early this season. They'll go out straight sets again if they make the top 4.

Make or break for Brisbane this year. Tonight they ran into a real team with Melbourne back to their best after a bit of a slump. Lever and May clogged their forward line and Petracca, Viney, Oliver and co dominated the midfield. Charlie Cameron was held to a rare scoreless game but Melbourne's tall backs just shut you down. But he does go missing in big games at times. Even though Brisbane and Geelong have poor recent finals records I think Geelong probably have a better chance but you'd think Melbourne are in the driver's seat right now and for Fremantle the opportunity is right there as well.

I think they only won 1 final under Fagan, a big upset win against Richmond in 2020 before Geelong absolutely destroyed them in the preliminary final. And they were swept out in 2 in 2019 and 2021. 1-5 with 4 of the losses at home.
