Pretty much. My house wouldn't get enough use out of Foxtel to justify it's price and the picture quality on Kayo makes it a non-starter for me. A premium version of Kayo with 4K streaming would be a nice middle ground.

They are a pain in the ass to deal with, every year I have to negotiate with them for a "better deal". It's a complete waste of time and effort, but they intentionally do that so people just don't bother and pay the inflated monthly charge.

We have platinum or whatever it is called (it's the package with all channels) which they want to slug you about $130 for, but most years I manage after a lengthy phone call to get it for around $89-$99 a month.

If they lose the AFL rights, we might even consider getting rid of it. It's one of those things we've had for years, but now using it less and less each year. I only really watch the AFL, NBA and the NFL, but my wife uses it far more.

I’ve got Foxtel but only coz I can’t be ****ed changing things (watch AFL and CNBC/Bloomberg, I subscribe to NFL Gamepass rather than watch on ESPN and 7Mate) but should they lose AFL then Foxtel goes.

Seven and Foxtel were at loggerheads for months over key elements of a future arrangement, including the number of live matches on free-to-air. The AFL was considering delaying two free-to-air matches each week by up to two hours in interstate markets to give Foxtel more exclusivity for its streaming service Kayo Sports.

Seven will be able to stream games on its online video service, 7Plus, and Foxtel will air AFL games exclusively on Saturdays each week.

I asked the guy whether he wanted to bother reading his 15 minute script to me given no matter what he said I'd be cancelling.

He told me he was required to read the entire thing. So we both wasted our time.

Then I got like 2 phone calls a day from them for a week asking me to rejoin. I asked them if they could match Kayo's price and they couldn't so I told them to **** off and blocked them

I saw one of the best posts ever on social media back when Rankine announced he was coming to Adelaide.

It went something along the lines of (paraphrased)....

"Is anyone really surprised? Both GWS and GC will never be anything more than soulless franchises that no one ever wanted. There's no light at the end of the tunnel, they've been feeder clubs for 10 years and will continue to be for foreseeable future.

This was Vlad's big parting gift to the footy world, two teams that will forever be a burden to the league and nothing more than a money pit that will never be addressed due to the AFL's hubris."

They’re a feeder club for the Vics. Massive leg up. Richmond and Melbourne wouldn’t have won without them.
