exactly,

they can take the monarchist Kings, Queens, princesses and princes fairytale BS over to the Politics thread..

cant believe in this day and age these relics of a bygone era are still taken seriously.

and it has nothing to do with this non crows AFL thread.

The dickhead is employed by the power
the dickhead isnt talking about anything even remotely related to AFL football though.. so why post it here?.

Best to go post it over on the “politics and all other related garbage“ thread!..

Umm if the Queen dies I'm pretty sure all sport is cancelled for 9 days. Due to mourning/ respect and all that jazz I do wonder if that includes us as she is the head of state.

We definitely get a public holiday holiday

AFL might have to think about organising a Grand Final a week after planned

The funeral is 10 days after her passing (well, D+10), which is Sunday week.

The public holiday for the funeral is expected in the UK, though technically not guaranteed (though the funeral being a Sunday probably makes this a moot point).

The funeral is slated to be on SANFL GF day (and our AFLW match against Collingwood). I’d expect both to be shifted. While sport may be suspended in the UK, I’d be surprised if we suspend sport for the next 10 days, so we could see these moved to Saturday.

Serious?

Looks like this is going to take over our lives to a fair extent for a week or so. Now that I’m not a business, there had better be a public holiday to offset this incursion into my life. Already we’re seeing online news inundated with stories. Surely the one about her hidden wealth didn’t need to await her demise.

I get the outcry and stories but delaying sport for a week, utter madness.

When Diana had died, was that Final series pushed back by one day?
Just checked - No Friday Night game, and 3 games on the Sunday, and only 1 game on the Saturday afternoon (to allow the funeral to be shown that night)

Our game vs West Coast was

On the Sunday.

UK will be impacted - we won’t be. If the funeral is Sunday (UK time), sport will still be able to be played Sunday 18th as at 6.00pm our time would be 10.30am (UK time).

Just reschedule things a bit earlier.
I was at that game, definitely remember the weather being overcast. While we won, it wasnt a spectacular game to watch.

Diana wasn't the reigning Head of State when she died.

FWIW, I can't see sport in Australia being majorly affected by her death. I expect there will be a minute's silence before the start of games, but no cancellations.

I never said she was.

However, Finals games in 1997 were pushed back a day. So yes it did effect the finals round that year.
