Port remind me of the 2002 crows. Lead by an all star midfield Roo, McLeod, Goodwin and Edwards we went all the way to the preliminary finals. Issue was we lacked enough around the ground to take us to the premiership. Port are this. No doubt great midfield but the rest of the team are mediocre mixed with a few above average.

Port are making a PF at the very least with two hom finals. No way they lose two in a row at AO, we saw in '17 how much that benefited us.

5 on a small forward, regardless how good at it, is also horrific use of capital, especially considering our midfield. Laird, Sloane and Keays are again our 3 out of our 4 prime movers.

Did I not also mention Collingwood? My point is, having the Top 2 spots decided half way through the season - regardless of who they are - removes a lot of general interest if we're talking about the premiership race.

Collingwood's season.

still, you don't pay 5 for a midfielder that can't push past Laird, Keays and Sloane in 2023. Rankine looks good around the contest, it's criminal that he doesn't get genuine minutes in there.
