Apparently it’s not a matter of saving money. It’s because the on air commentators don’t want to travel
If they were paid more or it was written in their contracts then there wouldn't be any issue.

Still kind of about money but also management need to tell them too bad.

Rowie and co have had it too easy the last few years clearly. Who wouldn't prefer that?

This week's game for us was so poor and obvious they weren't at the game. Underwood in particular can't read the flow of a game from the screen.

Yes and it was ridiculous that David King voted in the best players for the showdown the other week but weren't even at the match.

They (the VFL) media are completely tragic and so predictable.
What a surprise, Round 4 not even finished and they are already complaining about next weekend not being at the “home of football”.

And just a quick glance of history will show that this weeks Collingwood v St Kilda will not be the “biggest” H&A clash between them since 66.

Round 16 2010 Coll (Second) v St Kilda (Third) in what was to be a preview of that years Grand Final (s).

This is still an early season clash in which St Kilda will most likely lose their first game of the year. Would be a big game, but not the biggest ever 🙄😂

We should complain to the AFL about the substandard broadcasting our club endures.
Commentating from a studio is so 2020. Foxtel need to be sent a message that "working from home" is lazy and poor quality.
Disrespectful of interstate teams too.

it should have been written in the new broadcast deal for both 7 and Fox that the commentators call the game from the ground not from a screen in Melbourne

You might be right. In which case next year if they don’t have a perfect start, the noise will be much louder than it is now.
As long as Kochie is in charge, they are ****ed anyway.

Tealsters hanging on to Josh Carr as a savouir lol

Just another Kochie yes man.

What's hilarious is that the AFL clearly tried to fixture Gather Round such that there were zero blockbusters

ALL of the games are 2022 finalists playing non-finalists, or a non-finalist v non-finalist match-up - with the exception of Richmond vs Sydney. No big rivalries, no big Victorian vs Victorian battles.

Collingwood vs St Kilda was supposed to be a minnow match in the Sunday twilight spot to let a near-GF team beat up on the team that finished 10th last year

Like all stupid AFL ideas it backfired

I'm also highly skeptical of the reasoning behind Gather Round.

I believe it will be used as a pathway to give Victorian teams an extra home game every year by trialing it around the country for a few years before "realizing" that actually the best place for the round to be played is "the home of football" (Victoria)

i heard last week that the AFL are closing to signing a deal for the Gather round to be here next year aswell

JB just announced the Blues are gonna challenge the ban on McKay. Odds on him getting off? Hodge says a few years ago maybe, but with the AFL stance now he has to be suspended. I’d put cash on him getting off

Caller into SEN this morning, caller in “LIV Golf will be good in Adelaide, but it should be in Melbourne, how good would it be”

De Stoop “yeah you’re right, it would be”

The sense of entitlement from these flogs
The F1 Grand Prix in Adelaide was well know as the best race and overall event of the entire F1 calendar among the F1 drivers and teams at the time..

not only was it a track that always produced awesome races it was known for its huge party atmosphere.. possibly helped by the fact the race was the last on the F1 calendar for the year so not only was the championship often still on the line it was seen as the end of season party.

anyone that was around in those days remembers how much the city came alive for it.. I believe the Adelaide race still holds F1’s all-time record for attendance at 520,000 in 1995, the last time it was held in Adelaide..

the Victorians took it over and turned it into a snoozefest held at the beginning of the F1 season on a shit and boring track in a city full of fxxkn snobby, whining bellends..

That was a dog act..

running in late with both elbows up and blindsiding a player contacting him in the head.. if it happened in an NRL game there would’ve been a punch up and McKay would’ve been sin binned.

he should’ve got 3 weeks minimum.. the “potential for injury“ (which is apparently very important to the AFL at the moment) was huge.

you watch those snivelling vicco’s let him off cause the blues are playing the crows this week.. and it’s #freekickblues#FreeKickBlues.. fxxkheads.

And what's their defence? It's not like he is bracing for contact so he place his forearm instead of hand up at the split second so he tried to off balance the opposition while they were kicking so why didn't he push him like other players do......

Yep, still have a brand new T-shirt that was to big for me at the time (first year of the F1 in Adl), by the time I found it at the bottom of the pile I had out grown it. Also have a couple of the coopers F1 plastic beer cups hanging around. (Yes, I am a borderline hoarder 🤣)

I went to the first in Melbourne and it is just not the same and you are right, the track is arse paper!!

It will be interesting given McAdam was given 3 weeks based on “potential injury”. McAdam didn’t hit his head, didn’t cause any injury but still got 3 weeks.

As usual the AFL will continue to show its bias.

The Supercars drivers reacon the Adelaide track is one of the best tracks in Australia and at the same time is the most taxing on the mind and body for a driver..

they reacon 250k’s around the Adelaide circuit is harder on you than any other track in Australia.. drivers often physically collapsing after races in exhaustion..

They already have by only giving him 1 week in the first instance.
