Love this from a captian of a sporting team.

The Adelaide 36ers have responded to coach CJ Bruton’s departure with a pair of fiery practice sessions where captain Mitch McCarron accused teammates of “snitching” as interim Scott Ninnis drove home new standards he expects his embattled group to meet. The tumultuous week had NBL champion McCarron launching a withering salvo during Friday morning’s heated practice. “Shut the f**k up, stop f**king bitching,” McCarron roared in vision captured by Seven News. “This is why we’re in this f**king position (second bottom). “Everyone wants to f**king snitch on every other person and throw every other f**king person under the bus, “Train hard, shut the f**k up, get stops, win games, end of story.

Well that worked out well.

Now on the bottom of the ladder.

Most Tasmanians will jump ship immediately once they have a bona fide home team to support. IMO

P.s. I had a VFL allegiance until the moment AFC was born. Only took a heartbeat if it's still "home" in your heart

I know, which is why there is no reason a team in a place where other people already support a team (like a third WA team) would fail

It certainly makes much more sense to have another team in WA than a team in Darwin

But you're a normal person with character

Plenty of supposed South Australians stuck with a suburb of Melbourne they've never been to as their team

Not if the team has a genuine geographic identity. I'm guessing that a team based in Mandurah would attract supporters from the Peel region, which is one of the fastest growing areas in WA.

I do agree though, that a generic 3rd team based in Perth, with no ready-made identity, would be likely to struggle for supporters.

Good job by Port to lock up their stars.

8 years @ $1 million a season is a very big contract but with the salary cap increasing it is not as crazy as it might have been 5 years ago.
Rozee was never leaving, he’s a born and bred South Aussie. Seems an excessive contract tbh. Interesting if it impacts on keeping Butters, that’s the only genuine player they need to be worried about.

a local boy that was never ever going to be a flight risk, 8 years is a ridiculous contract and commercially high-risk

AFL football is a collision sport, one injury can destroy a career and putting any player on a 8 year top end contract is stupid business
