So the coroner has said that club doctors are (can be) compromised by their employers!!?

Let's see Port and the AFL try and tell the coroner they're wrong.

The case against the AFL and any clubs cited in any concussion class action just got a great deal stronger.
Probably only 1 club doctor... but yes, will be interesting to see how the AFL respond.

Coroner recommending an independent doctor assess players on game day for concussion, using the Port Adelaide 2 player collision example as why club doctors shouldn't be making the call.

Kind of weird they're only suggesting this now. Should have always been the case. Take the decision out of the club's hands.

The AFL do things in halves...

Not just Port's doctor. How many times did Selwood return to the field, after a severe head knock? Surely Geelong's doctor is just as guilty as Port's, if not more so.

I mean if they are talking about historically what about Jordan Lewis almost being killed then coming back on?
Plenty of examples of doctors acting in the interests of the club/team, rather than the injured (concussed) player.

Unfortunately...

Absolute disgrace of a “service”
Noticed too they stopped calling it a queue after being called out on it. It never was a queue, it's always been a lottery. When buying tickets for a show a few years back I had 2 devices going on entirely separate connections, second one I loaded up about 15 minutes after the first and that one got in within minutes while my original one sat waiting, waiting... Literally just a random selection on whether you get in or not.

Just on Gather Round ticketing - why wouldn’t you stagger each game over say 9 days.

The morning you allow members of that game to buy and then afternoon you offer whatever remaining tickets of that game to general public. Next day, choose the next game and so on.

Once all games have been covered then open up all remaining tickets for sale if not sold out.
Common sense doesn't sit well with ticketing companies. EVERY time a big act goes on sale it's the same shit. Tickets on sale at 9am local time, every show on the same day. It's bloody awesome trying to get in to buy an Adelaide ticket when thousands of QLD/NSW/Vic people are still trying to grab theirs.

The shows are staggered, why not stagger the release times too? Vic shows on sale Monday, NSW shows on sale Tuesday, etc. I imagine it's a case of it costing money every time they have to implement the holding room service and it's cheaper to just **** everyone over at the same time.

So NORTH continually selecting MIDS over players like Curtin and McDonald, has finally caught up with you

No problems ....it'll be put down to bad luck and not poor list management .....here boys, have another couple of Draft Concessions

The Western Bulldogs can confirm that midfielder Bailey Smith has suffered an ACL injury during today’s training session.

The 23-year-old left the track midway through the session, with scans confirming the extent of the injury to his knee.

“We’re all extremely disappointed for Bailey, and empathise with him greatly,” Bulldogs’ Executive Director of Football, Chris Grant said.

“The entire Club will rally around him during this difficult time, as he begins his rehab journey.”

The Club will provide a further update in due course.
Could mean he has played his last game with the club as he is a FA next year from memory

AFL Draft 2024: Profiles for 29 of the top prospects to watch

AFL Academy coach Tarkyn Lockyer on five names to watch in 2024 …

Finn O’Sullivan: “Finn’s had a fantastic couple of years. He’s just a natural ball winner, a natural football player who just knows where to go to get the ball. He’s played inside, outside, back and forward. He’s got a little bit of height where he can mark the ball really well as well. So he’s going to have a lot of attention coming his way.”

Jagga Smith: “Jagga’s a ripping kid. He’s got so much energy and such a thirst for knowledge. He’s got really good agility and fast feet and really good speed as well. He wins his own ball, but he’s got that speed to get out and find time and space.”

Levi Ashcroft: “As a bottom-ager this year in the champs and through his under-16s as well, he’s played some amazing footy. Even with the Sandringham Dragons, he’s done some great stuff as well. He’s got great game awareness, really good hands, and he’s a really good decision-maker.”

Ben Camporeale: “No doubt the Blues fans will be watching him pretty closely over the next 12 months, both he and his brother Lucas. He does play a little bit like his dad (Scott), where he wins his own ball and he uses it really well. He’s a great decision-maker and he’s got that little bit of height as well. He’s got a light body at the moment, so no doubt he’ll get in the gym and put a couple of kilos on his frame.”

Tyler Welsh: “He’s a key position player who marks the ball really well on the lead and overhead. He’s a very dangerous player. He’s got the ability to hit the scoreboard and he’s incredibly raw as well. He’s got a fantastic opportunity to link in with the Adelaide Crows as well as the father-son.”
