If not, why not?

Are you not using women as an insult? You're not serious
Are you not using women as an insult?
Putting them down as inferior?
If it’s so obvious it shouldn’t be too hard to explain then I guess? If I didn't have my reaction privileges stripped of me over the weekend you'd be getting the biggest laughing emoji right now

No I asked a question. You made the comment. Explain how they're the same.
Stripped of reactions?? Please tell!If I didn't have my reaction privileges stripped of me over the weekend you'd be getting the biggest laughing emoji right now

....Were you on the Port board?
No im legit, is using a sexist remark going to be treated differently to a homophobic remark? You're being deliberately obtuse that's what you're doing.
So everyone's conveniently overlooking Finlayson's contextual explanation then?
Which explanation the initial comment or yesterdays one?I think people are overlooking Finlayson's convenient contextual explanation.
I'm not that fussed by the whole thing, he has other stuff going on, I'm not interested in laying the boots in.
Saying that, if you believe his explanation I have a bridge to sell you.
“When re-thinking my comments today, it’s clear that I should have provided more context. So everyone's conveniently overlooking Finlayson's contextual explanation then?
Or have we just been the judge jury and executioner and the explanation is just waved off as Port PR and maybe I'm a closet homophobe Port fan?
Reckon there's a fair bit of 'happy to only focus on the reasons to be outraged because he plays for another team' going on here
Which explanation the initial comment or yesterdays one?
I haven’t heard any.
The quoted 'context' above shows he was pissed off at himself for saying what he did, and maybe he's struggling to express himself, but this reads like he's simply ignored the homophobic issue. He's more pissed off for what it's doing to him and the club. The explanation I've seen, is that he was saying he was pissed off at himself for saying the comment, not anything else.
It's more plausible in my opinion that he's pissed off at being made an example of, when Clarko did the same thing.
It's bit of a shit thing to say for that reason. Unnecessary and odd value judgement. Are you not using women as an insult?
Putting them down as inferior?

Yeah I should have an example of a slur on a female. It's bit of a s**t thing to say for that reason. Unnecessary and odd value judgement.
However, the word "girl" is not a slur used against a minority.
While there are many to choose from, I can't off the top of my head think of one that would make sense in the middle of a football game.Yeah I should have an example of a slur on a female.

3 is fine, but it should be the norm now if the AFL want to go down the route of insensitive name calling suspensions.
None of this 6 for Tex, 0 for Clarko, 3 for Finlayson business
Yep, and to the port flogs that said what Tex said was different, it's all vilification, be it sex, race, orientation, no difference. Pretty sure in all the HR stuff done at work it was all the same penalty. It's vilification, not name calling (not that name calling should be considered acceptable behaviour)
