Sponsorship rearing its ugly head at Fremantle. All the do gooder environmentalists are begging Fremantle to ditch woodside petroleum as a Sponsor. The issue for Fremantle is just which company will step in to fill the void. Sponsors just dont grow on trees as Netball Australia found out. If you genuinely want a sports team on your activist side, how about you find them a replacement sponsor that fills the void. Its that simple.

That doesn’t address my point.

As long as you don’t pick him the in the PSD no one cares what you do

If you stick 2 fingers up at the AFLPA, and put into doubt the whole restrictive player movement and control mechanisms by invalidating the function of the PSD as a run off, steam release valve, then the AFL will **** you like a sexy pig on the road to deliverance

I think koch secretly hates port because he's destroying that club. Imagine splitting your future first.to get 3 average players.

It isn't in our best interest to let it get to the point he enters the draft anyway, it is extremely unlikely of happening.

As long as you don’t pick him back up in the PSD do what you like

If you do pick him in the psd all hell will rain down

what would be wrong with that? If Dons don't pay enough for North to not excercise their match option and then don't pay up at the trade table, they have every right to grab him in whichever draft he went in.

The AFLPA will lose their shit at 'player movement' being held up. The AFL would then also not be happy.

Isn't there some rule where they have to use at least one first round pick in a three year period or something?

If they trade out their 2024 first rounder, they'll need to get at least one back this year or next year.

I think they would justifiably ask for an exemption given they traded the pick for first round pick from the year before.

The AFL have waived this rule on the fly in the past without a worry for Geelong.

That's not how the rule is supposed to work though.

As Checksider says though, the AFL has been willing to just completely disregard this rule for Geelong so I guess it might as well not exist.

Clubs can apply to the AFL for an exemption

The rule is there in most part to save clubs from themselves

Imagine playing country footy and a 35 year old Sam Jacobs lines up against you.

Sauce played for Ardrossan in 2021 and 2022 but was injured in 2022 and only played one game.

He has played 15 games for Flagstaff Hill in the Southern League this year including finals (he is unavailable when the Crows have Saturday afternoon matches at Adelaide Oval). I watched the Flagstaff Hill v Noarlunga grand final and Sauce is still surprisingly agile (but doesn’t jump off the ground) and his skills are excellent. He dominated the ruck and kicked 3 goals resting forward.

It was an excellent game with three Crows top up players including Jaidan Kappler who looked good in his 6 games for our SANFL team this year. There were also a lot of players who had played some SANFL plus “The Recruit” Josh Eagles who was on the Lions AFL list.
