I've already had enough of North and they aren't even good yet. The audacity of this dumpster fire of a club, just being handed 1 round picks for literally being a steaming pile of s**t that was their own doing.

Nothing North has done wrong apart from being crap on field. They asked the question, any club doing their due diligence would do the same and it would be poor business if they didn't, shoot your shot - what's the worst the AFL can say, no?
...the AFL said yes.

The AFL should have said no, the AFL should have folded them when they had the chance. They don't have any star buying power all this is gonna be is a farm for the the top Vic Clubs to continuously top up the talent on their list without the need to bottom out.

Lord should think about it, Georgiadis is back next year he isn't gonna be picked ahead of Marshall and the club has a hard on for a cooked Dixon.

Play in a team with Hawkins and Cameron..... would be pretty nice

This Sav deal is now into it's 2nd year...

We have only had a similar trade deal & that didn't end well.

Plenty of popcorn to watch Scott dig his heels in on a uncontracted player who wants to leave.

Pick 24 should be plenty.

The problem for Port is that Andrew Mackie is another Adrian Dodoro who demands top dollar when a player wants to leave.

You'd think that Port after trying for the 2nd year in a row would now be morally obligated to get the deal done like we did with Gibbs and West Coast did with Kelly. I suspect that Mackie would know this and is most probably using it to Geelong's advantage.

This one is going to be interesting as to who blinks first

Gibbs and Kelly were still contracted though right?

I'm pretty sure Kelly was uncontracted when the trade was done.
Yep .. they first tried when he had a year to run and Geelong held him to his contract. Then Geelong bent them over when he was out of contract

And he actually did have a legit need / want to go home

Wells and now Mackie are not nice to deal with

Problem is Mackie is a wannabe .....he hasn't found his level of confidence in his own style yet

You know ....that period after getting a new promotion, where you try so hard to justify the appointment

BZT will be a great get for Port and I wish he nominated us. He's a slow burn but he will absolutely be a gun KPD.

Rance was exactly the same in his early years at Richmond (to the point of some supporters calling for delist material). He turned out pretty handy by memory.
He's 25 already, how much longer until he's good?

According to one poster 23-24 is the peak of a players powers - its all downhill by then

Maybe it's me that you're referencing because I did make that comment, but I never said "it was downhill from there".

My point is that, especially with midfielders, players are now being exposed and playing far earlier than they used to so by the time they're 23-24 they've often already played around 100 games. Ruckmen and KPPs are different because bigger guys take longer to develop, but midfielders develop a lot quicker.

Bont is s a great example, he turns 28 in November, but he's playing no better now than he was when he was 23-24.

The observation I was making about Rozee and Butters was that usually those type of midfielders that have been in the system for a while have often hit their peak by that age. That doesn't mean that they fall away from there, there's a plateau for about 4-5 years of them being at their ceiling before they start dropping away.
