McClure could really use a swift kick to the balls.
Recently saw McClure at a pub day before the grand final. Guy looked like an absolute flog. His mates were equally as Rooster like and entitled in their demeanour. Stood at the bar for a good 10 minutes, waiting to be noticed as well. Pure definition of a nepo baby…

He really isnt taking this well..

Notice how the flog says nothing about the powa trading their future 1st for some shit picks.. an F1 that geelong wouldve told them they would be demanding for Rat..

Its just pathetic.. he and the scummy club he aligns himself with just expect everyone else to bend over and accept their shit.

He’s right though, Geelong have become arrogant. They want more than 23 for a bloke they didn’t always play. Just listening to Chris Scott from the get go that they won’t trade him.

On the other hand they raid other clubs and try to pay unders.

What Port have offered is fair. I’m happy to see Port suffer, doesn’t change the fact Geelong are acting like arrogant dicks. We’d be spewing if they were doing it to us.

Geelong have managed to cultivate and “easy to deal with” reputation but have rarely if ever paid overs for a player or taken unders for theirs.

Lol - considering the strike rate around here, that's seems a bad strategy.

Schultz did refuse a contract extension trigger, but it kicks in the end of next year. Has a partner with family health issues.

Henry out of contract.

There's obviously something a bit suss happening there around their player relations. Schultz mentioned that in a podcast, and they've lost a lot of players in recent years, including WA players choosing to leave and move interstate.

So we were right, you were wrong ;)

I didn’t ask for a history in player retention but why they were letting Schultz go whilst under contract

You asked about Schultz and Henry.

I flippantly responded, then gave you a detailed response.

You'll note, in that detailed response, that I mentioned the illness in his partner's Victorian family, which has been said in media reports as the reason they're letting him go. Little detail has been said publicly about this.

They can also trade from him this year, but now that he's refused his extension trigger he becomes an unrestricted free agent next year.

Many of the players in that enormous list were also under contract.

I hope that satisfactorily answers your questions ...

Without making more than it is, I asked about Schultz, given they are losing Henry as well.

They were saying not he radio last night that Geelong told Port not to split their future 1st as they wouldn't accept 1 of the resulting picks. Port went ahead and did it anyway.

So to some degree they were framing Port as acting in bad faith

I get Geelong's position, that the Port pick isn't going to get them a player they want this year. The reality is that ER simply isn't worth a F1 (which could well be a pick 8-12 range) in what's shaping to be a deep draft.

At this point in time I'd be ok to see Geelong get SFA

You'd have to wonder if in hindsight they'd have been better off letting ER go last year? Though I can't remember what Port could've offered then though and can't be bothered looking it up
