First time I’ve thought of Jordan Murdoch in quite some time.

Always remember this from 1997 and the Andrew Mackie story. Such a smooth looking player.
I always thought the Crows never took the draft seriously and preferred to exchange picks for average players. The swap of pick 12 to PA in 2000 for Bode and they picked up Burgoyne with that pick. Kane Cornes later on.

Never knew about Jesse Hogan supporting the Crows.

Doesn’t Geelong have a preseason draft pick ahead of Geelong, so if he wants to go down this path they can pick him up anyway?

Can someone do me a Craig David and fill me in?

Geelong's PSD pick is the same time as Geelong's.

They do... but is anyone really stupid enough to think that they'd select Ratugolea, just to spite him & Port?

I think they will trade him for Ports second round offer. Geelong have been over playing their hand acting like a petulant child. How many players and I mean star players have they poached from sides for minimal outlay? Geelong need to let him go.

im not sure what’s more puzzling, Ports desperate need to get him or Geelongs reluctance to let him go.

He’s very bloody average. Doesn’t make much difference to Geelong and won’t make much difference to Port either.

I just don’t get why Port didn’t negotiate prior to trading their F1. It’s like they traded in the picks they think would get it done, and now Geel have said no, they’re up the creek. They could have gotten more than what they did if they held off…
It is increasingly sounding like geelong told them that their F1 is what Rat is worth and is what geelong will be asking for..

not only that.. geelong told them this for weeks or possibly months in advance..

and the arrogant flog Chris Davies decided that the best course of action would then be to trade their F1 (which they did in a deal that was just horrible value for them) and then turn to geelong and say “sorry, F1 is now gone, you can have the 23 we got with it”.. thinking geelong would simply accept that.

its backfired massively..

suck sh*t to them. Port need to learn that not everyone is gonna put up with their scummy behaviour..

That pick 23 is already at 25 and will likely become 27 during the draft (GC only have one matching pick before).

So it was 2024/1, which could easily fall in the 8-12 range, for Freo’s 2024/2 (in the mid-late 20s) and potentially pick 27.

They haven’t played this well at all.

This is what makes me think Geelong are posturing. They will ride this out to the 11th hour before magically agreeing. Port are offering way overs here as it is to help Geelong play ball. Geelong just playing the game for more.

Just because Geelong has a demand, Port are under no obligation to meet it. Clearly F1 was a joke and Rat is not even close to being worth a 3rd rounder on a good day. They were never ever going to get f1 even if Rat was their only target. Geelong know this. They are just wanting to see what else Port will offer.

Also if this draft is so poor, just a thought, does that mean Reid could turn into a bust and purely be over rated?
