This is the same club who finished one game above us last year. The same club who lost to GW$ by six goals. Only 13 months ago.

F***ing inspired performance by Port this is, and last week as well, no question about it.

The way they're playing, they could be Premiers.

You jinxed them Wonna.

Hi guys, I hope all is well.

Just a question regarding Rivers if I may.
What role do you remember him playing against the Hawks and what did you think was the best opponent for him?

Thanks. :rainbow:

If I recall correctly, he played as a defender for us.

Odd question. Who cares, Kennett Curse?

Think he was going for something a bit more specific there tbh...

Just off the top I would have him maybe on Gunston (or should Mackie take him?) or else Hale if he's down there with Franklin and Roughead. A few times he got towelled up by big ruckmen but no doubt Geelong can support him better than what the Dees ever could.

No just discussing what he may bring.

Mackie plays as a defender by the way. But I wouldn't call it his 'role'
We're used to Taylor and Lonergan getting the job done. And Rivers is freeing us up a bit.
But I'm trying to think of plan B in the back line.

So I was wondering what Rivers usually did vs the Hawks. Who he played on, and/or where he was most damaging.

Gee you guys can be hard work

Thanks mate.

Gunston is the unusual one I think.
The kind of lead up 3rd tall we do struggle with.

So that may help.

So he'd get smashed by Buddy or Roughy then?

I wouldn't say he would necessarily get smashed by Buddy or Roughy, also he would've played on Hale at times as well. Has always played taller than he is due to long arm reach. I would imagine a role on Gunston while trying to double team Rough or Franklin if the ball is bombed in

I hope they do. Would enjoy seeing Hawthorn break down after getting done yet again by Geelong. Even better would be Buddy pulling a GWS jumper out of his pocket the minute the final whistle goes.

Going for the Hawks, but the two teams are playing off for a runner up spot against Freo, IMO.

Say what you like about ol' jeffie but he has almost single handedly inspired one of the greatest rivalry's of the modern era.

Love a good curse.

Go Cats

I'm sick of the Cats winning, they have had their day.

Will be rooting for Freo next week, get around them.

Part of me wants to see the Hawks win the whole thing though, I'm sick of hearing them talking about revenge and how hungry they are to go the extra step. If it was Freo in that position we wouldn't hear about it over here haha

Not the Norm Smith one though.

Yeh I've been all over Freo for this finals series, I'm also sick of the same teams winning the flag. But I still want Geelong to beat Hawthorn for the laughs :D
