Wish we'd kept him. Would be best 22.
Yep. Never really saw the point in trying to fast-track OMacs development. We're always talking about what a young side we are but we push out a loyal clubman who could steady things down back.

St Kilda just aren't that good I've decided.
They have one gear and way too many passengers for my liking.
Yeah now that we've beaten them the spell has been broken and we can see them for what they really are.

Their mids are pretty bog average at best, Armo has been out injured but his best is behind him anyway, Steven isn't having his best year, Seb Ross is probably their best clearance mid but isn't a brilliant player beyond that.

forward line structure is struggling massively without Bruce, not sure why he was dropped. McCartin actually looks like he'll be good, but he's no Petracca ;)

I think Richo is a great development coach and helped them to become quite competitive with a short turnaround, but the "game plan" of trying really, really hard doesn't stand up too often against tactically proficient coaches. They won't reach any great heights with him at the helm.

Yep well put mate I agree.
McCartin will be a good footballer. It's fun to get into them about not taking Traccs but in all honesty, he's going to be pretty bloody good.
They have a one paced midfield. Lots of blokes who can stand up and contribute but nothing flashy. Weller, Steele, Ross, Newnes are all a bit meh IMO.
I reckon Gresham is a ripper and Billings starting to show a fair bit too but at the moment they are a 7-8th placed side at best.
With Roo 50/50 to go again next year and Montagna nearing the end, I see them as a fair way behind us list wise.

I think what really hurts them in comparison to our list is their lack of young A grade talent - their depth of B's is probably better, but their cream is thinner. In addition a number of their younger guys (Goddard and Dunstan for example) haven't come on.

I think it shows the value of multiple top 10 picks per year across a number of years, against a greater number of top 20 picks over the same period.

Yeah can't argue with that.
And watch all the main board trolls give it to us in the coming years when we're going well on the back of all our "AFL gifted picks"

If you were Josh Kelly and had to pick either Norf or the Saints which would you pick?
Saints by a long way. Have young keys at both ends and depth in the midfield. 2 first round picks this year as well. If they had Trac instead of McCartin I'd probably rate their list higher than ours
