Jesus the umps are gutless. Just pay a ******* free whenever those melee's happen and it wouldn't have led to the jumper punch. To then allow the punch after it is just absurd.

Pretty poor isn't it. Everyone says the umpires are powerless but that only occurs if a melee starts after the siren. It is up the umpires to start paying frees to stop this shit, it'll stop real quick if that happens.

Yeah I think you're being kind. The 'dive' only happens if there's a punch though.
You can see where the ump is on the replay, he wouldn't be any chance of seeing it. Surely you aren't suggesting that a player has never played an autumn leaf after getting a push to the chest? The ball is heading towards Geelong's forward line, you wouldn't bring it back for a hit in the chest, and you'd want to be damn sure it was high.

That being said, it looked like there was almost enough in it to pay something at the start of it when Crouch or whoever it was at the start was coping it while virtually defenceless on the ground.

And why wasn't that deliberate against old mate from Geelong spoiling it over the line with no one near him at all? Identical to Short's one

Yeah I reckon from the replay I saw the ump woukd have seen it. At worst it's a punch to the neck, which is still high contact. That's a free every day. Particularly if the ducking free kicks are paid to selwood

After all the attention it's gotten over the last few weeks, I'd be pretty surprised if an umpire saw a jumper punch land high and it wasn't paid. But we'll agree to disagree.

I have come to the conclusion that Adelaide are pretenders, whwn they lose they lose bad.
They've got no plan b do they ... if things don't work for them, they're incapable of changing it up, or even stemming the flow at this point. Reeks of a team who are unlikely to have much of a say in Finals.

Adelaide have been pretenders/teasers most of the 00's, regularly make top 8, tons of talent but go no where, hopefully they turn it around second half of the year, one team I'd be happy if they won a flag.

They always seem to have one really weak area in their flag tilts.

In the 03-07 area where they were good under Craig their forward line was Perrie McGregor Burton and Welsh.... puke

Now their midfield is Sloane Crouch X2 then a bunch of wingers. Teams lack of bravery at the trade table can cost them flags. If they had Gibbs and traded McGovern for another good young midfielder they would be a lot better this year and closer to a flag.

Who is everyone going for in the current match? I'm finding myself mentally favouring Gwuzz. Sick of the 360 hype over the Bombers every time they win something. Plus if we are to have a spot of luck to squish into finals, we need a few there abouts teams to drop off.

Interestingly, both me and my partner have always disliked Toby Greene for seeming like a flog, but he is such a fantastic footballer and so good to watch we have both completely turned around on that opinion. He's elite.

GWS, Bombers will rival us for a spot in the 8. With West Coast losing and if the dons lose a win next week against the pies will have us back in the top 8.
