I genuinely feel bad for Carlton supporters. They're the worst offensive team I've ever seen. It's like their entire game plan is basically to park the bus.

Charlie Curnow, to be fair, looks an awesome prospect, and did some great things tonight. But at the end of the day, he's kicked 1.4, been caught HTB badly twice, and has disposed of the ball at 42%.

Listen to the gushing commentary and you'd think he'd had one of the all-time young forward games...

Been really awful is pushed of the footy so easily and has lots of turnovers by foot
Should be playing VFL.
These livewire flanker type players who were highly rated as Juniors seem to be let downs. Jack Martin is another one but he is showing at least a bit of recent.

Would take Zac Fisher over him atm.

Fisher averaging 21 touches, 4.3 tackles, 3.6 clearances and 10 contested possession. Kids Gonna be a Jet and i'd be asking for him if Gaff choses the Blues and we match him. Not as a great runner as Gaffy but do see him as a great inside mid with a great engine in the future.

I was at Etihad tonight.

Zac Fisher and Cripps are both great. Jack Silvagni is shithouse and is so obviously only getting a gig on name. He doesn't have a clue on how to get into good receiving positions. No pace, not that tall, not that strong, he is a plodder.

Tim English will also be a very good player, but it won't be for a long time.

Love how the Derby gets the grave yard slot of Sunday evening but Dogs and Blues get friday night. In the mid 2000's the AFl valued the derby and we actually got some decent time slots. These days it very rare to see it in a time slot other than sunday arvo.
We even had a friday night derby in 2007 after both teams finished top 4 in 2006.

Gotta work on his decision making and disposal by foot, a lot.
No denying he is an exhilarating player though.

TBH you can blame Foxtel as its the timeslot they want.

was that the game we wore the peril in?

Been reading about this on reddit.

Yep foxtel and WA time slot is perfect for them in a Sunday arvo. Foxtel having it on a sunday arvo is going to make it even more irrelevant over the years. I know there's vic's who give zero ****s about it but if it was on a decent time slot and on fta time to time, i think more interstate fans would actually been interested in it as well.

It's tough being a young, forward flanker. You aren't following the ball around like an inside mid and you don't have everyone going out of their way to get you marks inside 50, like a big forward.

That's why I'm interested to see where Izak Rankine gets picked. There are obviously big wraps on him but he wont win enough contested possession at AFL level and he wont control the air in the forward line, so why use a premium pick on him?

I think much of that will depend on how he plays this year. Can he push up as a wingman & get it 20+ times? If he can, you could probably make a case for a top 3 like a Stephen Hill.

I see him ending up more like Wingard - being able to play midfield minutes but also a creative half forward who is damaging with ball in hand. That burst of pace he has will be less effective when he gets to the next level; but he’s got a lot of tricks.

I doubt he will be top 5 when the draft comes around- I think there are a few tall talents in Lukosius & the king twins who will take that up- but if he carries on his form of last year he would be very hard to overlook from 5 on.

Well Shitmantle have been crapola for the last 2 and a bit years so they deserve nothing. West Coast on the other hand deserve a few Friday nights against the likes of Collingwood or Essendon etc. The other thing about Shitmantle they cant draw a crowd considering they tell everyone they have 50k supporters where are they on game day

That’s the thing with these kids like Callum Ah Chee, Pickett, etc. they’re just not worth a top 10 pick. WA seems to breed them well and I reckon they stand out more because they tend to be WA’s most talented in the pool.

SPS seems to get thrown around a bit too much though. Love his traits but
