So its:

Dogs win. Theyre in.

But if Dogs lose...

Port can make it if they beat Freo by around 30ish which they should.

If Hawks beat us then Port probably need to beat Freo by 60ish.

Crows have to win by about 3-4 goals more than Port or hope Port lose and hawks lose.

Phew...

I'm fairly certain they'll only keep the funding up while the Titans are still around, and the NRL will only be funding the Titans while the Suns are around.

We may need to get the UN involved.

The Gold (coast) War

NRL good for a Bay of Pigs fiasco every couple of months.

Fremantle, over various stages in the last three seasons, have been in positions to play finals before limping to the finish line like a collapses marathon runner.

2017; 6-4 becomes 8-14
2018; 6-7 becomes 8-14
2019; 7-5 becomes 9-13 or 10-12

Surely they'd be busting to get back into finals at those half way points.

Their inability to understand the list, be bold in their intent (rebuilding vs aiming for finals) and then show any promise or progression once they went public about the rebuild must be troubling to them.

This is their best season of the 4 since 2015 but they are still nowhere near it. Finished 16th, 14th, 14th, and currently 13th with one more win than the 2017 and 2018 seasons. The Saints would have to have a decent win in Sydney to push Freo down to 14th again but it seems unlikely.

I don't know where the light at the end of the tunnel is for them. They've had access to talent and have some great players. With a fresh coaching perspective I suspect they could show a bit more form like Saints, Blues, North.. But this year is a big fail for them. They should be contesting finals again by now.
