Weddle signs back on with the Hawks and knocks back Essendon

7 year deal worth $10 million he turned down for 4 more years at the Hawks around the $1 million per year mark

It's a pity, don't care about either team but the melts from hawks supporters would be legendary.

You've hit the nail on the head here.

Carlton supporters are in denial as they also boast the most list cloggers and never made it types in the AFL as well....
Francis Evans, Cottrell, Lewis Young, Reidy, Fogarty, Ainsworth... Chesser will likely be added to that group.

They'll join Collingwood down the bottom of the ladder in a few years time with another lengthy rebuild on the cards.

Sooner if they get injuries to key players

Jagga Smith looks like a handy footballer doesn't he.....

He’s been basically exactly as advertised, finds it really well but has very little contested side and has hit more Brisbane chests than Carlton ones today.

Still think he needs to address 1 of the 2 major flaws (contested ball / hurt factor) in his game to become a great mid.

He hasn't played an official game yet
Obviously, he has plenty of time to work on it and I expect he’ll win the rising star (or go extremely close) this season as he is one of the most natural accumulators to come through the draft.

Just saying this game is pretty much what anyone that watched the draft would have expected from him.

When he shows improvement in one of those two things is when I’ll be majorly concerned about missing on him, until then his ceiling is Tom Mitchell.

Ok. Time to reactivate Kayo now that the AFL preseason games are on.

Unexpected positives;
  • Voucher available to discount the 4k package to be the same price as the HD (WCE membership perk?)
  • That dumb as shit, inexplicably difficult to navigate Hubbl portal seems to be gone. Ohhhh yeah.

Odd comparison as TMitch was an inside contested beast. Yes could accumulate but did it on the inside not the outside.

Eventually at least one coach will realise all you have to do is sit an old-school gut running tagger on these Daicos type seagulls and they will be shut out. A Crowly or Hutch type.
Careful. McRae will get upset and say mean things to said tagger.

I wouldn’t call TMitch a contested beast at all, he was better in true contested work (and tackling) then Jagga projects to be, but a lot of TMitch’s inside work relied on reading the ball faster than the oppo (as will Jagga’s) as opposed to athleticism/strength.

Elijah Tsatas is another player who is ridiculously good at reading the ball on the inside (and thus racks up clearances/CP’s) without being a contested player (unfortunately he’s a genuinely awful kick, and lacks a tank right now).

Maybe not the best comparison, but Jagga has such an odd mix of attributes that finding an appropriate comparison is difficult.
