Freo play my boys Richmond at the MCG in round 8, I'd like to think Richmond can do better then Melbourne and beat Freo but Freo winning at the MCG will give then a lot of confidence for the round 8 match.

Looks like I've hurt some fee fees in this thread. Just saying, can you imagine us to come back like that from half time? To kick a goal with a minute left to snatch the lead? At the MCG? Just my observation. We need to get better at this.

They are a much better side than us so you can expect them to beat you.

You'll crunch that top 4 list that play with heart.

Melbourne had 3 big omissions today, that is why I leant to Freo and they only just got the job done. Top 4 lists should be smashing. Especially ones that play with heart

Well that's a pretty specific scenario and we barely play there. We won at the MCG towards the end of last year and also beat Richmond the year before coming off consecutive 6 day breaks.

We did away against GWS late last year, not that long ago

MCG: Freo - Past 5 Games: W,L,W,W,W

MCG: Eagles - Past 5 Games: L,W,L,L,L
Freo's last 5 MCG opponents - Demons, Pies (2016 version, where they got pumped), Tigers (2015), Demons (2015), Tigers (2014)

Eagles last 5 MCG opponents - Tigers, Blues, Pies, Hawks, Hawks

I also like how you left out the last MCG victory before those two Hawthorn losses.

Edit - also, who f***ing asked you?

I can imagine us coming back and kicking a goal inside the last minute to snatch the game, yes, it happened like 10 games ago. Now it wasn't at the MCG, no, but when we play there once a season it's sort of hard to form any actual trends. Freo came back well today, more power to them.

Do you not get that few, if any, posters are criticising this one point that you made? It's more to do with the masquerading as invested in the Eagles when every little thing the club does at every level gets torn down by you? As a general rule, celebrating a Grand Final loss so you can pat yourself on the back because you warned everyone all year we weren't actually that good is a pretty decent way to earn a reputation. Take a look at the body of work mate.

Whenever I feel bad for my melt on here the other week, it's nice to jump into any thread on our board and see the same group of posters who collectively live in this alternative universe where WC is bottom of the ladder every week. (FWIW I'd honestly rather we ground out wins than flat track, as it makes for a better spectacle, but that's just me).

Melbourne are a team known to have a soft underbelly, if they don't have their best 22 on the park they're a rather ordinary side, this is known knowledge. No way anyone went into that game chock full of confidence that Melbourne were going to roll Freo over like a sad sack of shit. For mine the rather predictable outcome came out on top. Freo has a team full of kids who are full of energy and are playing out of their skins to stay in the team. Come a few weeks time I highly doubt the same level of intensity around the contest will exist, and they'll drop off again. On the other half of the spectrum we have a Melbourne team showing us all (again) that below their best 22 is a bunch of sub-par kids who need time to improve. So what's the story?
