Pfft, give me 269 over 300 any day.
I'm absolutely filthy. Day two of a test match. Going over 5 runs an over. No time pressure. Voges is 36 years old and probably won't get another chance. Voges isn't an ego.
I think Australia went too early on Smith as captain. I don't know who else could do it, but in my opinion he appears to be acting a bit immature- trying to impose himself on the game and make himself a reputation? Honestly though, I do think that for the sake of the team he would declare rather than reach the personal milestone.
The thing I find most annoying is that declaring wasn't for the good of the team. At the rate they were going at lunch on day 2 nothing negative would have happened ie. making the test match end in a draw. If australia had an extra 50 runs that would not have hurt anything.
Interesting point of view. If they went too early on Smiffy as Captain, who else could do it? Don't think Davey Warner is quite ready, and most others are too green or establishing themselves. It's a team sport, the goal is to win the match, not breaking records or personal milestones. Team comes first, selfless play, here to win. Well done Smiffy, he leads by example. Think our footy team has the same mantra.I'm absolutely filthy. Day two of a test match. Going over 5 runs an over. No time pressure. Voges is 36 years old and probably won't get another chance. Going for and sinking the 3 point shot after he stole the ball with about 5.50 left in the third was just taking the piss. Great to watch but even the crowd was a little shocked when he put it up.That was some serious shooting. A lot of those shots were well outside the 3 point line
