I thought Gaff would be our first 300 gamers but as I understand it he wants to go back to Vic at the end of the year.

Struggling to see a 300 gamers for us in the next decade let alone a 350 gamer. Never liked Pav but well done on 350 games.
Unlike. Please show yourself out.

Surely Nic Nat in that team, imagine him tapping it down to that midfield

As much as I give Pav shit for playing at Shitmantle, I have a tonne of respect for him. 350 games at one of the most mediocre clubs going around. Only played in 1 finals match up to 2010, which they lost to Essendon. Lots of players would've looked for success elsewhere, but he stayed at Freo and didn't take the go home offer early in his career. He decided to spend his career bringing success to Freo, rather than chasing success at Hawthorn or Sydney, and after the Durant (biggest campaigner) thing in the NBA, my respect for anyone who doesn't jump ship has tenfolded.

I sound like a freagle, but the bloke is a champ. Well done.
What? The Dockers played in a prelim in 2006

How have our purple friends reacted to this claim?

Well I hope.
Calling bullshit and bitching about GWS ruining McCarthy

Also claiming that their forward line saviour is only worth a 3rd round pick

**** I hope GWS refuse to trade again

Brett Heady was a classy half forward and had a terrific year in 1991, but he wasn't better than Mark LeCras. People tend to romanticise the ex-premiership stars. LeCras kicked a stack of goals for some shitty Eagles teams during his peak years as a forward target. He made the All Australian team in 2010 (robbed in 2009). Heady was never All Australian.

LeCras has been an underrated gun player. More consistent and more durable than Heady was.
He also has more strings to his bow. He can play midfield, half forward or full forward.

Heady also had to compete in a forward line with the likes of sumich at his peak, and to a lesser extent Gehrig for a few years. Those days it was much more key forward centric, so a smaller spread of goal kickers compared to the modern day forward lines. Lecras played as one of the key targets for a fair chunk of time, in a shit team, with little to no pressure. Heady stood up in finals, in grand finals, in a time where we were the hunted, an he still performed.

I like lecras, he's been a great player for us, but I'd still have heady ahead of him just for his ability to perform when needed, which unfortunately lecras hasn't always done.

You are correct though about people romanticising premiership players, we all do it, and time makes it even greater!

Lol would they even kick a goal?

Not a single winner on any line for them.

Mike beat me to the punch but anyhoo...

How did Heady go compared to other Half forwards of his time? The era was much more dominated by the full forward being the focal point - in our case Suma and lower possession totals in general.

I may have my rose tinted glasses on but I remember Heady as more of a big match player than Lecca in general.
4 goals in the 91 grannie, 6 goals in the 94 prelim and leading WC goal scorer in the 94 qualifying final vs Collingwood that we won by 2 points.

Plus Heady took some screamers. Gotta love the lads who fly :)

Talk of Walters to GWS McCarthy to Fremantle. GWS would be rubbing their hands together if that happens
I doubt that will happen. Has a young family, they've just bought a new house near their investment property and seem very settled in their neighbourhood. Can't imagine Freo will unload one of the only players they have who can kick goals when its their biggest deficiency.
