I could see North tanking the GWS game if we beat the Crows, so they'd avoid an elimination final in Perth.
Doubt they'll beat GWS anyway but you're right, they'd do what's needed to not travel here to play us (and the Perth crowd & umpires after last year)

How cruel is it if Adelaide lose this friday, top 2 or miss the top 4 all together. Literally the difference between making the GF (they will if they finish top 2) and getting knocked out in the semis.
Not cruel at all, they'd have to pull a Melbourne to lose this Friday.

Lewis cleared.

Absolute ******* joke.

He hit the arm and it slipped up to the jaw, don't have a problem with him getting cleared personally.

More importantly Rory Sloane gets a week.

Clenched fist to the throat/jaw that brushed Lycetts arm on the way through - it's remarkable how often Hawthorn players get away with clear strikes

Maybe i'm being a bit soft on him but I thought Lewis' intention was to hit Lycett's arm and it slipped up from there.

Well yeah I know I have my priorities wrong - two bad decisions and one ends up favouring us so I should be happy.

I get that Lewis hit the shoulder first but I don't see why it matters what his intent was. He hit him on the chin - what more is there to say?

He got very lucky he clipped the shoulder, it was an attempted smack in the mouth that, just like his disposal, missed the mark.

Nope - I just watched the replay on the AFL website to remind myself of how it happened. To say it was a punch to the arm that slipped is an extraordinarily generous assessment of what happened. Lewis is lucky it did brush the arm first because it possibly took enough momentum out of the swing to allow an insufficient force decision. It was just as hard as the Lycett hit on Vickery.

Should also have been a 50m penalty btw

If you accidentally brush another part of someone's body when striking them with a closed fist that should make no difference. Well they couldn't lie about that one being open handed so had to find another reason. :)

Fair enough

With how badly he's been playing this season it's more of a penalty for Hawthorn for him to be out there ;)
