Gee they have a dig at NicNat but sandi had 7 disposals and 1 mark even though he is 2 feet taller than everyone it only rained 1 quater. 5 effective disposals of 7. Anyone got a hitout to advantage number?
Nic gets hammered in the media over his lack of marks.
Sandi 1 mark.
Jacobs 2
Clark 0.
It's just the way it is sometimes.

Finey had a big go at him not marking on SEN. Was bitter because we touched up his mob.

It's a tad different in wet and greasy conditions where Nic has struggled to take marks in the dry. Clarke has taken around 8 marks a game this year and there is no doubt that Samdilands could take more but Nc doesn't take anywhere near enough for his position or athletic dominance.

Mumford gets basically the same disposal and mark stats as NN has through his career, and never kicks goals, but is widely praised for his bullocking work and considered the AA favourite.

Its all about the narrative the media run with.

Problem with nic is, he's shown he can take good, high flying contested marks, so now everyone expects him to do it every game. He just needs to start gettin some easy link up marks around the ground, and everyone would get off his case, but he lacks the basic knowledge of the game to get to those positions on the ground to take those marks. he'll get better at that, even if only marginally.

Whats Sandilands excuse for his lack of tackling? He's only laid 6 for the season total

Wonder how many frees he's given away for high contact in a tackle - fair chance it's more than 6

He certainly could link up a bit more but its hard to be at the fall of the ball for a mark when you were at the contest that created the movement. (ie, ball up) and he's constantly at the ball ups.

Really is a big day of footy today. All games will give a better idea on how the clubs are going

In the Fyfe and Dangerfield thread on the MB, a Freo poster said this…

Now if only Dangerfield could kick to save himself. Most overrated player, not even top 50 in the league. Commentator circle jerk is seriously over the top.

Criticising Dangerfield's kicking in a discussion involving Fyfe. Really?!

In fairness Nic has given away seemingly one a game, overzealous front on tackle in the middle or in our 50. Certainly was going one a game early on in the year.

Brisbane look so disorganised

I just wanted to say in the off season when Brisbane traded for Christensen I got shot down for saying I didn't rate him and their midfield that much. Well I'm still sticking by it. I just don't see it at all in him, was an average player for Geelong and still is.
Brisbane were talked up as having a midfield equal to the best, some even comparing theirs to Hawthorns. Beams and Rockcliff and a good young player in Taylor doesn't just automatically make you the best midfield in the comp, The rest around their midfield is rather average.

now we have played the mummy giants this seasons, how did that turn out

HOw much of a flog is Mathew Lloyd, no Josh Kennedy in his AA forward line.
Need JJK to stand up today to shove it up their arses.

Otherwise he'll continue to be ignored.

More like 5 a game but no doubt Clarke is an incredibly strong overhead mark, probably the best for a ruckman (won't comment on the rest of his game).

The criticism of Naitanui is warranted IMO, he averaged over 2 contested marks a game in 2012 so we know he can do it.

North Melbourne won't be pushovers. They'll be our toughest opponent since Freo, we may get over the line but it'll be a close affair.

Tonight should give us a good idea of how we'll stand up next week.
