Essendon dodged a bullet. I will definitely throw them in my top 8 for this year for sure, now that they wont have the ASADA stuff pressuring them.

If true, it is somewhat strange 4 AFL players testing +ve for a drug (to my knowledge) not tested +ve to before in the same city within weeks of each other. Either a massive coincidence or maybe targetted testing based on knowledge?

Ok if that is the case, then either all 4 being tested at pretty much the same time is a big coincidence (when you consider how few tests are done) or someone knew something to target the group with tests.

No documentation and no physical proof has saved them. Everyone knows they did it.
I am truly disgusted about this decision. There is 0 transparency when it comes to the afl. It is now rivalling FIFA and the IPL as the most corrupt sporting competitions and organisational bodies in the world.
IF i didnt love the eagles so damned much i would stop following football. If i could stop myself from following football i would. Going back over time I'm not sure there has been a truly fair premiership without extra help from the AFL in the last 20 years. We talk about wanting to win another premiership but our last one came with cousins as a FS, Judd with a priority pick (who there is no guarantee we would have taken given the shoulder risks if we didnt have another pick 3 spots later) and 92 and 94 were built on good drafting however a lot of that was due to concessions as well.

It is frustrating when reporters and people go on about our tainted year in 2006 but i think it is worse for the Bombers with 2011/2012 being a lot worse and then there is Watson and his brownlow!
I don't usually feel sorry for Fremantle but i can see Crowley getting 12 months for a painkiller when the Bombers get off cheating.

Some people are so vindictive its truly amazing. Just for one second let's imagine it was our players under the microscope. Would we be baying for the livelihoods of our players knowing they did nothing but follow the instructions of their club?
Obviously the system they had going on at Essendon was terrible and should never be replicated. But they have been punished losing draft picks and premiership points. That may not be enough for some but considering none of their players have tested positive for taking a banned substance not much else can be done. Whilst I think what happened at Essendon was disgraceful I am so glad the players who in my opinion have done nothing wrong, are not going to be punished!
It's only ignorant fools who think our recreational drugs were performance enhancing. Anyone who has used the types of drugs our players liked to dabble in, would know that there is no way it would improve your performance. Maybe for a short period of time, right after you take it (which none of them ever returned a positive test during games or training) the come down would have been a bigger disadvantage during training etc the day or so after they used it.
Essendon's was a team wide, deliberate act to try and gain an advantage over other teams, after Hird starting jumping at shadows over how much fitter other teams were.
Glad essondon can field there team .. I would hate the teams they play get unfair win and percentage boost ... if we were playing them tho I would prefer they were found guilty

Couldn't give a shit, As long as i can watch a Footy show soon and not have to watch half n hour of dribble about Essedon, maybe now they can actually talk about footy not lawyer bullshit !!
