Yeah this whole thing has taken some of my interest in AFL games away. The whole Essendon thing is just a total sham. Hird still coaching is wrong.

Then of course the Eagles kinda going nowhere this year also does not get me excited for the season. Emac going down, Darling out for the start. Leaves a sour taste in mouth before we have even started.

Normally would have signed up for Dreamteam and tipping, CBF this year.

Was home all day yesterday and didn't even remember to watch the start of the game. Turned it on just before quarter time and watched up until half time. Hardly watched the 2nd half.

Will still go to all our games at Subi of course, love going to the footy. But staying home to watch neutral games... nah.

How good was that McIntosh kid. Remember a fair few posters rated him and hoping we'd pick him up

There's a thread on the Sydney board called something along the lines of "Where's Tom Mitchell?". Didn't bother reading it but could the future answer to that question be that he's playing for the Eagles? Heeney debuting for them tomorrow... they seem to have more good midfielders than they know what to do with these days.

192cm from memory so bit of a tweener like Darling. Tigers have converted him to a pretty effective wingman.

Not really. mcIntosh was always a dasher, well suited to playing on a wing at AFL level and played wing for Peels league side in 2012. He's added substantial size to his slim build, as he was drafted at just 78kg and looks to be over 90kg now.

The player id most liken him to would be Powell, both are elite runners and elite users by foot. The difference between the two is that Powell kept on growing a little more. Not that his height should discount him from playing on a wing.

Very similar types and I can see Powell playing a similar role if developed correctly. Powell is equally as dangerous when given space, can cut sides up with leg speed and accurate kicking.

I guess we can add Melbourne to the growing list of sides to finish above us? Or do we subtract Gold Coast?

I guess we won't find out until our season defining match in four hours time? [emoji23]

We really would like Melbourne to hold on here. With the early injuries we have, every little thing that can go our way is a bonus.

Obviously a long way to go but at this stage you'd suggest pushing for finals is still a stretch for the Demons and the Suns should be around about where they were last year.
