Cockatoo dropped for Geelong - has he played a full game for them yet?

Early days I know but with Duggan possibly the youngest listed player in the competition he would seem to have been the right choice at the moment.

We never had the chance to get Cockatoo, he went at pick 10.

I know, just talking about the hypothetical world where we would have had the chance. You know that regardless of where they end up as players we'll still be tempted to compare them in 10 years. ;)

How is Weller tracking? He was our other potential pick if I recall correctly.

Weller is often getting in Peels best players.
Also, Jordan De Goey named for pies. He's played some good reserves footy. Turning out to be a great draft.
Jake "risky knee injury" Lever played a great debut for Adelaide last week. 20 odd touches and 10 marks.

Wow that's super impressive. I wonder if Geelong will regret switching places with them in future. Lever was usually talked up as potential top 5 despite the injury.

Going to be the best draft since 2008 you'd think. Wonder how Ellis turns out for Richmond

Yeah and they finally made the decision of Ellis over Duggan as well if both were available.

His first move is to make a big play for priddis and uses yarran as trade bait ;)
Instantly become raging premiership favourites after priddis discovers his lethal right boot.. :p

He would be the wrong move for carlton iMO. Not that I think woosha can't coach, but they went down the experienced route with Malthouse, and hiring another coach with game plans that worked in years past isn't the way to go I don't think. Unless they feel that woosha will be better at developing a young list, like he did for us in 2002.

Is a new coach actually going to make them look any better though? The team is shit.

Whateley corrected him using the current Bombers PR trend of saying over and over again that the players were proven innocent at the tribunal. Whateley said hang on, they didnt get to the finding of innocence or guilt as they couldn't work out what the players were injected with. Hird had a smug don't ever question me again look on his face when he asked Whateley; well did they find them guilty?

Whateley then asked him not long after; if your son was at a football club and they couldn't tell you what they injected him with how would you feel?
Can t remember the exact answer to this but is was squirmy ullshit.

Whateley asked if there were any records that might present a different case to which Hirdy implied that they were given to ASADA and who knows where they are... Nonone asks why you would hand over a doc and not keep a copy but there you go.

There was also a part where he picks Hirdy up on saying "we know the players didnt receive anything banned" to which he reminded him that he doesnt know otherwise they wouldnt have had to go through this mess if they did know. Hird unhappy again, and changes to "we believe"
Said it elsewhere, and I'll say it here. Whateley is the best footy journo in the country, and it's by a fair margin. The only one who comes close is Emma Quayle. He asked the right questions of Hird, and even managed to do so firmly, but without being an arseh*le. Anyone who wasn't watching with black and red coloured glasses would have come away from watching that interview wondering "WTF??".

Throw in that he's one of the better footy callers as well, and it makes listening to the game on the radio worthwhile.

Just so pure in his calling.
There's no double take or a pause to find the right words.
Easily the best commentator to listen to.

Not usually a fan of the Channel 7 crew but HUUUGE props to Tim Watson for that bit on MND with Neil Danniher.
