The AFL should have taken the medal away as soon as the guilty verdict was handed down. It's an automatic decision as far as I'm concerned

Given that they delayed making the right call and the decision is being appealed it's right that they now wait until the appeal is heard

If the appeal is rejected they should be able to announce what they're doing with Watsons Brownlow immediately. They've had plenty of time to consider what to do including the pissweak idea of polling fans to see which way the wind is blowing

Personally think that something is brewing between them. I am not sure where I got it from but I reckon there is a standoff between the AFL asking for the medal back Jobe playing on. Jobe will hold out making a decision until the medal decision is made and I get the feeling the AFL are squirming about it and he knows it.
Again I got this feeling not long after the discussion started and he still hasn't committed and they still haven't made the decision. He could have come forward and said "I believe if the appeal fails I will hand back but its best to wait until the process is complete...I have no qualms about handing it back should that be the decision".

For me had the players taken essendkn to the cleaners, they would have had more sympathy.

By not doing that, they have tied themselves together and essentially appear as a result to be complicit together. They tried to play politics with asada on technicalities instead.

When u feed people crap and expect them to swallow, don't be surprised by backlash. Now they have every single 5 year old being called a druggie at school with many deciding to follow other clubs.

Ps. I don't care if he hands it back or not. One way or another, it's merely a thing. All should just officially strip him of the title. But handing it back is like stopping the boats. Visually more graphic but really small part of bigger problem (in latter case the thousands of refugees that arrive by plane each year).

I think he will be booed regardless if he has it or not. I think he is enjoying the AFL squirm as he knows they don't want to ask for it back...that they were hoping he would do the right thing and hand it back.
