If you told me yesterday that I would feel pity for Boomer today and hate Scott more than I already do I would have called you crazy.

Is it just me or does Scott think going into rebuild mode will reduce expectations so when the inevitable slide happens next year he won't have as much pressure from the outside and media?

Nah never mind I am crediting him with too many brain cells.

Personally I think he'll decide he'd rather be a one-club player than a 450 gamer and retire, but we'll see. I certainly can't see him leaving Melbourne.

Stevie J I'll give you. Great year, in their best possible outcomes, this would have been the year they would've wanted from Stevie. But it's a reasonably young team, that needed some experience and X-factor in the forwardline. He has delivered. But unlike at North, Stevie hasn't been one of their best players. He has played a role. A valuable one.

Just on Stevie J, everyone agree he was a big factor in GWS losing to us the other week? That contest in the last 30 seconds when the ball went out and Butler/Cameron contested with Butler winning out - Stevie J was actually first there and tried to do a wanky little soccer but completely missed, to which then Butler raked it in and dished it out. Completely horrible play because at best it would have been a little kick into space, but very likely it could've even gone to the boundary for deliberate. Tried to be too cute instead of just going in hard. It's not like GWS had to even score at that point.

Been very surprised that wasn't brought up more as a critical point following the result.

If you want you break it down and over analyse it, then sure. Stevie J cost them the game.

Likewise if you did the same for every other player you could find 21 other instances of acts that cost them the game.

Yeah he looked cooked to me. He cant run out a game and hasn't been able to since about mid way through the year. I thought it was funny with King focusing on him to "do something special" and everytime they discussed this he was just circling the back of a pack hoping for a spillage goal side for him to run on to.

Both Sydney teams and WB will be lining up to get Boomer you'd think. Probably Geelong too.

I'd love to see Boomer and Caleb Daniel on the same side, proving my missus everybody wrong about the importance of size.

The 2011 Brownlow medallist also elaborated on the greatest players he'd shared the field with.

"But I've obviously played on guys like (Gary) Ablett and (Chris) Judd - they obviously let you get your get your own ball because they're so good offensively.

"But they're probably the two greatest midfielders of all time, you could argue.

When pushed to name the best player he's ever seen, the answer was fairly clear cut.

"Ablett is the best I've seen.

"But I'll tell you what, Judd wasn't far behind him at West Coast. The three of four years he had there were as good as anyone.

"If I had to split them I would go Ablett in front of Judd."

Thats from swanny. even he knew thats the blues f*ked judds career.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I reckon we damaged Judds career pretty badly by playing him in 2007 when he clearly wasn't fit
He was never the same player after that year, lost that acceleration from the contest that he had with us
