Might be an unpopular opinion, but I reckon we damaged Judds career pretty badly by playing him in 2007 when he clearly wasn't fit
He was never the same player after that year, lost that acceleration from the contest that he had with us

Suckers...

If you want you break it down and over analyse it, then sure. Stevie J cost them the game.

Likewise if you did the same for every other player you could find 21 other instances of acts that cost them the game.

I'm sure you could. It's kinda what these forums are all about. But I didn't say it was the sole reason, but it was a pretty interesting thing, given he's high profile, talked up as a match winner, tons of experienced, like someone else said the commentators kept looking to him for something special, and he did something cheap and weak instead of going in hard. Just thought it was interesting is all.

Just on Stevie J, everyone agree he was a big factor in GWS losing to us the other week? That contest in the last 30 seconds when the ball went out and Butler/Cameron contested with Butler winning out - Stevie J was actually first there and tried to do a wanky little soccer but completely missed, to which then Butler raked it in and dished it out. Completely horrible play because at best it would have been a little kick into space, but very likely it could've even gone to the boundary for deliberate. Tried to be too cute instead of just going in hard. It's not like GWS had to even score at that point.

Been very surprised that wasn't brought up more as a critical point following the result.
Every time I replay that moment, everyone talking up Butler for winning that 2on1 contest, but Stevie J missed the ball before Butler could even touch it... had he kicked the ball in front of him he'd have run into an open goal or passed off to the other GWS bloke who was running beside him.

He was scared of what butler would do to him if he kicked it so missed on purpose

We did in essence by not telling him that running with a shoulder in a sling is bad for for your groin area. But it was Judd who has said he was insistent on playing as many games as possible in his last year.

If that is true it just backs the idea that personalities are bigger than the club down there as has always been suspected.

they can boo Scott and think the club didn't handle it well but part of this has to be the players acknowledging that father time has probably caught up with them. I know Harvey has been serviceable still but how long do you persist? The conversation of when enough is enough was never going to be pleasant with Boomer and the his dad coming out and having a dig etc just reeks of a lack of respect for the club as well.
Obviously the conversation didn't go well at the table that lead to it otherwise this wouldn't be being aired.
