I was a bit sceptical about players week on foxfooty but it's actually been refreshing to have peer to peer commentary of current players on the sport. It feels so much less shouty than the usual boys club rubbish
I also respect what they are saying a bit more. Probably because we dont hear from them as much so I dont know their agendas as much.
I think Jack has been great, Fyfe as always speaks so well and one surprise was Ben Brown, did a great job.

Agree, I've always liked the way Brown goes about his footy and thought that his off-field persona matched his on-field behaviour. He was impressive and articulate, as all the players they selected have been. Hamish Harlett was the surprise for me - a sense of humour, who would have thought?

Is it just me or are the ads on big footy’s mobile website getting more and more invasive? I get that the place needs to make money but it’s getting to the point where it’s hard to navigate the forum without accidentally clicking a link to god knows what and I’d sooner stop browsing on my phone and use chrome with the ads blocked (nice word filter but I hate it when sites use ads as a reason to get you to pay for upgrades rather than having content that is actually worth paying for) than risk downloading a bit of malware on to my phone

I never swear at or try to disrespect people, but Damien Barrett is a bitter flog. How is he a "professional" journalist? By far my least liked footy personnel. In fact, he's probably the only one I dislike. It's like listening to a jealous school girl.

When the membership from player sponsorship lapsed for little bit at the start of the year I was shocked by the how much the ads had increased since a few years ago. If it wasn't for the membership that comes with being a player sponsor I don't think I'd bother coming here.

Are we all excited for tonight blockbuster between 18th and 15th?
I know they have to do the scheduling early, and every team needs a Friday night game, but even in the pre-season they should have known that this game shouldn't have been on a Friday...

Apart from adding a little floating notice last night - which has an X to dismiss it for good, and which is now hidden for anyone on a screen of 800 pixels or less width - we haven't added any new mobile ads for ages.

Actually, maybe there is a 320x100 ad at the top of threads where there didn't used to be one.

I am looking at changing these, I don't think they even bring in much dosh.

Thanks for the feedback.

I got my new iphone via bigfooty. Not sure what you guys are on about.
Response from one of the ad networks:

"It is a hack and its so irritating, I'll get it removed right away."

Advertisers in networks sometimes get their innocuous ads approved, then swap in shit like this, or a third party hacks another ad through various means.

Thanks again for posting the screenie.

Remember this?

They're all practically converging on one another this year. Goes to show how even the middle of the ladder is, and how even the middle of the top 8 is too!

Closer to the top = better forward efficiency (scoring shots per inside 50 multiplied by the conversion rate)
Closer to the right = good defence (scoring shots conceded per inside 50 conceded multiplied by the opposition's conversion rate)
Bigger bubble = better midfield (defined by clearance differential).

The missing club is Richmond. They're a tiny red dot hiding in the bottom right of Hawthorn's big green dot. Yes, Richmond have the lowest clearance differential of any team! They've won 507 clearances this year, and lost 571.

In regards to those, please post in the feedback board if you see them again. Same goes for those in-image ads.

The ad networks are supposed to come to me with new ad units, not just fire them up and wait for me to complain. I've reiterated this with them but you always get some guy wanting to inflate his commission, or being careless with agreements with third parties.

Surprisingly Carlton are doing OK...

I suppose if you just replaced Carlton with "Patrick Cripps" it would be the same though.

So Jeff believes that Tasmania having a standalone team would be worse for tourism than having the Hawks stay as their "have our shitty games" team.

Someone worried they might have to play their games against interstate teams in Melbourne and getting North size crowds me thinks

Typical Hawthorn pigheadedness

I can’t wait for the day when Jeff finally disappears up his own backside. He encapsulates everything that makes me hate Hawthorne (except for his work with beyond blue).
