Yeah, a lot of those wins have come periods where Melbourne didn’t make finals. In the first 40 years of the comp they went 12-3-70. Since the 64 GF they are 30-1-59. In those periods they played 8 finals for 4 wins.

Between 1937 and 1964 they won 41 and lost 19, played 14 finals for 12 wins and 2 losses and won 10 flags.

Basically Melbourne have had one golden era and really cashed in on it.
