Who else do they have right now? Williams injured, Markovic crap, Roughead FB, at least Cordy has -some- talent

Need a key forward. Really badly.

How do you score 70 points in a half against a rabble but fail to break the 100 point barrier? Collingwood are a 5-8 side

They are not even close to the top 5. 8 would flatter them.

The sad thing is that they're probably the 6th best side right now. Clearly behind Hawthorn, Geelong, Sydney, Fremantle and Essendon but are probably better than Carlton, Richmond, Adelaide, West Coast and North Melbourne

They were dominant under malthouse. They aren't coached well under buckley. They still have gun players, but I think they're past their best.

Collingwood have a lot of kids playing at the moment,

They had Seedsman, Williams, Kennedy, Oxley, J. Thomas, Martin, Elliot, Dwyer.
if they can get Fasolo, D. Thomas, Young, Beams & Johnson back they will be a much better side!

Their rucks are an issue which they cant fix this year. Jolly cant dominate good ruckman any more and Lynch isn't great back up (on top of him playing KPF and has 5 goals for the year)

Thankfully Eddie got rid of Malthouse. I dread to think of what may have occurred/be occurring if there was no succession plan. I have little doubt they would have won 2011 and who knows in 2012 and this season. Would surely be going better?

We've avoided the dark ages. I don't see how that wouldn't have been a terrifying dynasty.

Compare that to Carlton and...

Well let's just not think about it.

I think that simplifies it a bit much. Geelong worked out how to beat Collingwood in 2011. They were also smashed by injuries in the second half of 2011.

Not convinced it can be put completely at the feet of the succession plan.

Anyone else think Collingwood's recruiting has really hurt them over the last few years? They seem to have gone after a lot of guys that have made an immediate impact but only have very limited potential. Some examples are Blair, Fasolo, Sinclair, Elliot, Dwyer, Lynch etc. These guys have looked great when they've first come in but have struggled after a while and eventually been found out in big games. I think they've changed this policy last year by securing the draft picks for Kennedy, Grundy and Broomhead but I feel like the few years of recruiting before that is hurting them

Or would have Mick gone par for the course and the 2010 premiership not happened?

bulldogs egain underwhelming. i worry when i read that roughhead could be a future captain. leets mwke sure he cqn prove to be a decent afl player.

Pies are doing pretty well considering their fixture so far and injuries.

They beat us later in the year and they'll likely finish ahead of us...

Was thinking that just yesterday. For all the crap that's been written about them, they're going along OK. Mind you, they're only really punishing shitkickers ATM.

Melbourne coach Mark Neeld has been sacked, replaced by senior assistant Neil Craig

According to the Hun...
