Eh.

I watched about 15 minutes of the Bulldogs/North game last night, still didn't do much for me.

These days I like the "idea" of it, or at least I like seeing the results, but whenever I try to watch I just don't get much out of it.

Same boat here, I check scores, and watch the last 5 minutes if it's a close game.

It's not a big issue for me, by the time the saga is over I'll have got married bought a house, and had 2 kids, so it sorta came at a good time for me because it made it really easy to work out there more important things to do on a weekend than watch 8 games of footy.

Yeah I agree, that's the silver lining of the last 4 years with Essendon; made me realise I spent way too much time and energy on a game, and now my life's better and more productive.

I've just stopped watching it full stop apart from the fleeting glances.

Essendon will forever be negatively mentioned in the media and the commentators aren't much chop these days.

Channel 10 was the best.

I still enjoy Essendon games, mostly but can no longer get any interest in other games nor any football related shows, so in part I know the feeling enough

I can see him being it at the end of next year honestly. Still right in the Coleman race too with Essendon (Hartley), Collingwood (Brown) and Port (Hombsch) to go. Buddy has St. Kilda (Fisher), North Melbourne (Tarrant) and Richmond (Rance) to go. Kennedy has Freo (Dawson), GWS (Davis), Hawthorn (Frawley) and Adelaide (Talia) to go. Think we'll see Kennedy win it honestly.

Also as an aside, there's a way we can see Hawthorn miss on the top 4, North drop out of the 8, and have all three of Carlton, Collingwood and Richmond get into the bottom 6 this year. But St. Kilda have to get into the top 8 so...
Kennedy has some tough asks their.

Lynch is quality. Marks strongly, bodies up well, leads to space, kicks it beautifully.
Probably the best forward since Lloyd when it comes to a pure FF.

Few random thoughts and questions:

- Justin Leppitsch is a hypocrite, complaining about unfair concessions.
- Tom Lynch (on paper) looks to be having a dominant season. Is that the case, and who does he play like?
- Zac Merrett (on paper) looks like he's in the top 5-10 midfielders in the comp; is that the case?
- Has there been a lot of pressure on Nathan Buckley during the last few years? How does he still have a job, considering he has made that club consistently decline every year?
- Is Ross Lyon safe? (I'm a fan)
- How is Daniher tracking?
- Has Ambrose still been playing key defence; how has he been?

Leppa - does not have the team playing for him.
Lynch - quality. Lloyd-like. Im calling it now.
Merrett - Yes.
Bucks - been interesting. every time you think the pressure will max out, they win a game, then go back to being garbage.
Lyon - Yes.
Daniher - starting to build as a leader and more than just a forward. Which is good, cos his kicking......
Ambrose - been decent. Ideally we have Hartley, Hurley and one of Hooker/Francis down back instead though

About as much force as Hawkins and he copped a week aswell. Wouldnt say its obviously an open palm either

FYI I was being sarcastic, its bs that he got off for that. Intentional, low impact, Contact to the head. That's 2 weeks down to 1 with plea. Since they couldn't downgrade it any further they basically have invented some kind of excuse to not suspend him.

One thing that is annoying is the continual crap we get at this time of the year about how to change the draw or anything to stop WGAF games.
Was listening to the dribble on MMM before our game on Sunday. Here is a tip! There will always be bottom sides no matter how many times you **** around with the rules meaning there will always be meaningless games towards the end of the season.
If they want to fix the draw and have a bye or two play 17 games. Everyone plays each other once in a two year rotation. Simple apart form the problem of TV wanting 22 rounds.
If we played a 17 week premiership season then some sort of half decent NAB Cup could be played with decent money on offer to fill the other 5 or 6 weeks if need be although personally i think 13 games in Melbourne and 4 interstate plus 3 practice matches is plenty of footy. They could have a final 9 so Richmond can finish 10th.

I always laugh at those conversations too. There is no way to EVER make the draw even. It's sport, if it were completely even and every game was a draw nobody would watch. Just leave it how it is.

Yeah, they can't have their cake and eat it too in this situation. You either have a long season with the extra games, the revenue that brings and a bunch of games where one side gives zero ****s, or you have a shorter season.

The longer the season runs the greater the disparity between the best and the worst becomes. Then you get a season like this were the top 6 will probably be decided on percentage which is great from one perspective but from the other you just have a group of teams setting out to utterly ream a bottom side and that just gets a bit tiresome after a while.

Wasn't it only 2 years ago that we had the high drama of the final 8 being decided in the final week? I mean, I know there was a mitigating and unique circumstance that determined that, but still.

Still think that all games in the last round that can affect the finals should be played simultaneously on the Saturday. It would be superb drama.

If people want drama and excitement in the final round reset everyones ladder points to zero and throw in an extra ball on the field.

Theres your drama.

It is a purely media driven sentiment.

Very few people watch enough football for it to make any impact to their football consumption.
