Jesus. As a Dogs supporter you'd want hope Darcy understands the game and operation of club at a much higher level that his special comments drivel suggests he does.

Simon Garlick is an ex-plyer and their current CEO. Grant is director of footy. It's not like they need a stronger presence of former players choosing the coach.


Edit: it's extraordinary that club boards place their faith in unqualified outsiders to select their coaches. I don't get it.

I just get the feeling that Luke Darcy is going to become one of the elite coaching selection panelists in our game today. we have already seen him show how talented he is on the all australian panel and the rising star panel, now i just get the felling that he is going to make that transition to one of the genuine A grade elite superstar selection panelists in our competition

Love leading teams.

It's a load of self-fulfilling shit that works if you've got strong characters.

When you don't have the characters you end up with idiots like Will Minson trying to tell Aker what it takes to win flags, bickering and general unrest.

Like you've said it should all be driven from within the club.


It does make for a bit of fun when, while drunk, it become more of a Festivus style airing of grievances.

so far this week Tom Boyd has visited a school, Tom Rockliff has launched the new Lions jumper, and the Pies have done introductory press conferences for like 3 players.

im starting to think Clubs don't really respect the whole "players are in their off-season" thing. maybe if you wanna do this October PR stuff you should not be allowed to start training Januray

Luke Darcy is the worst he might be ok at general commentary, but for someone who played 200 odd games he doesn't add any intelligence to it.
