Hodge, better leader, better disposal and tough as nails. Judd has been better in some other areas with his explosiveness but I see Hodge as being a better all round package.

It's not just what a player can do with their skill, but what they can bring to the team to bring success. Hodge's skill level is fantastic, but below Judd. But Hodge's leadership is ahead of Judd by a fair bit. Judd's peak was like nothing we have seen, but how long did it actually last?

If you had the 1st pick in the superdraft (with the benefit of hindsight and the player not leaving your club) would you take Hodge or Judd?
If we were drafting them now. I would take Judd. In a team of non-spuds (aka not Carlton) he is devastating. He is the reason Carlton won a lot of games, put him in a team with other good midfielders and it's games won.

Had Judd elected to go to Collingwood at the end of 2007 rather than Carlton, the results could have been truly scary.
He could elect all he liked, but Collingwood still had to make the trade happen. West Coast accepted Kennedy, 3 and 20 begrudgingly, I'm not sure Tarrant, 14 and 31 would have cut it.

If we're talking hypotheticals though, ignore the popular "what if Carlton hadn't traded for Judd" spiel as well. Consider if Carlton had simply accepted West Coast's request for picks 1 and 3. They would have Judd, Kennedy and potentially Jacobs too.

Loved how the Hawks kicking against a four goal wind managed to have 79% time in their forward half - Game was over at half time.

Freo beat WC by 30 points - Read the paper and you think it is a competitive game - 80 points was a true reflection of the game.

In regards to Aish more than likely leaving Brisbane at the end of the year do you;
A) Keep giving him games and developing him so he can increase his trade currency for when he inevitably wants to go home

or

B) Not play him at all, if the situation is as dire as it appears and he doesn't want to be there then why gift him games ahead of someone who actually wants to play for the club?

They'd have to keep playing him, otherwise they'd get bugger all for him at the end of the year. If you aren't playing, you ain't worth much.
