Posted last week that last week's loss may haunt Collingwood - Developing teams have to nail those wins - Collingwood have a tough one this week against the Swans - Lost that and the confidence evaporates even against mid-range teams.

Dare I say it, I really enjoyed last night's footy. It's the first non-Essendon game I've really enjoyed watching all year (let's not go into how pleasurable it is to watch EFC atm though).

I'm not sure how it happened either, as earlier this week my passion for football hit an all time low. Maybe recognising rock bottom had been reached means I can now start digging up.

As for Taylor Adams, the best and worst was on display from him that game. Dog act pinning a bloke on his back and keeping him down by kneeing him in the head (and the last one had considerably more force than the others), but then that goal from the boundary with a greasy ball was brilliant.

Collingwood are a perfect example of how you can be made to look really good with a compromised draw. Get your tail up and confidence then fall over when the big boys get a hold of you.

I wonder where we would have been if we got the kick start that they did.

Confidence is a wonderful thing.

West Coast also had a brilliant fixture for the first half of the year. Amazing what winning early does.

Westhoff played out the game though. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he got off with a fine/got off altogether.
If so it'll be another win for the "result that determines the severity of the punishment, not the action itself". By doing this the AFL are advocating sniper acts I reckon.

I know it's not AFL, but I've seen this first hand in our local footy comp.

2013, team finishes with 2 wins, finishes in the nether region of division 2.

2014, team relegated to a lower division for grading. Wins all grading games by 60 points +. Team promoted to division 2 for season, with their tails up blitzs the first half of the season and sets up a finals appearance, and ultimately a flag.

2015, promoted to division 1 for grading. Smacked left right and centre in grading - 100+ point losses. Demoted to division 2 for season. Confidence shattered, struggling through the year.

It's bloody amazing what a win or two does for your mental attitude.

Hey Tas, what's with Thomas being dropped? Seems like there's other people who are crappier and play in more important positions (ie the midfield) that should be dropped before Thomas
Dropped Dumont as well, who's barely gotten out of the sub vest. It's the easy way of "making hard decisions".
