Potentially unpopular opinion: The Selwood chicken wing is a lot worse than the Judd chicken wing.

All Judd's doing is holding Adams' arm so he can't make an attempt at a handball (albeit pretty maliciously, he didn't have to pull on it but I get the theory given how commentators rave about tackles where a player targets the arm to get the incorrect disposal call), Selwood's got the arm completely knotted in, locked it in with his opposite arm and then rolling back onto Wright's back to put even more pressure on the arm. It's almost getting towards an MMA submission hold.

6 weeks absolute minimum, horrible look and potentially dangerous

He was basically halfway towards doing this:

Probably more unpopular opinion; Selwood will get off. I honestly don't think he realised what he was doing. Tackled Wright and somehow ended up just holding the arm, rolling back to appeal to the umpire for HTB.

Can they please bring in the Josh Jenkins suggestion of an extra premiership point for a team, win lose or draw, that kicks 100+? Will do a lot more to fix the game than all the fan "engagement" fluff that's emerged over the past few years.
Bit unfair to teams that play away from Etihad. A closed roof is probably more condusive to higher scores than lets say, playing at the G.

You'd think. I'd be curious though, if since 2000 scores have typically averaged higher than at other grounds.

So Cyril grabs a guy on the run and pins the arm whilst both players are still in motion. Now consider all the sudden changes of direction that can occur in that instance, as well as the extra force behind a player moving at pace.

The potential for that to cause a serious injury is higher than the AFL seem to want to admit. It's banned in another code, so it isn't as if nobody has recognised the potential to cause injury.

I'm not a fan of either that type of action or Selwood's attempt, but to ban Selwood whilst letting Cyril go on his merry way doing it on a near weekly basis is just typical of the inconsistency of the current MRP.

There's a big big difference between Selwood and Judd: Selwood was the one who tackled the player. That's a massive difference. Stopher's post nails it for me, I cringe when I see of the some holds that occur when players 'pin the arm', but there's been no sign whatsoever that those holds that happen while tackling players are suspendable. Now, the MRP basically always has the general misconduct clause it can use, but I don't see it happening here and Selwood would be unlucky to see it suddenly punished.

That's twice now a raised knee from Sam Mitchell has resulted in a corkie. Should at the very least receive a fine. It's not a coincidence.
