Yeah Brown is overrated. His reputation's been inflated by his personality and aggression in his early years (which is distinct from the type of aggression he showed later) plus the three premierships in which he didn't play a major part. His peak was good but too short. I'd put Lloyd, N. Riewoldt, Pavlich, Franklin, Fevola and Hall ahead of him.

Serious question and not solely based on this game. Is Johnathan Brown overrated?

I don't think he is in the top 10 forwards of his era.

Was easily the best key forward of his era (if you're looking at 2001 to 2014 and excluding Lloyd and guys who finished 5 years ago) when his body let him be.

If you're looking at performances over a career, though, he'd struggle to have played half of the excellent footy Nick Riewoldt has played.

Listening to SEN and the collingwood supporters are sooking about the lack of frees for Cloke and the scragging tactics of Lonergan, but Josh Gisbon was praised last week with his performance on Daniher which was similar.
Or Harry O'Brien every match against Scott Lucas

Things I learnt from yesterdays games (Syd v Adel, W.B v Rich, Coll v Geel, WCE v St.K)

- Sydney are still a very good side.
- Luke Parker is going to seriously bite us on the arse.
- Adelaide are rubbish.
- Bulldogs continue there love affair with medium sized forwards that will get them to prelims but no further.
- Tom Liberatore, Jack MaCcrae, Mitch Wallis, Lach Hunter, Luke Dalhause, Koby Stevens is the best young midfield in the comp bar none.
- Jackson MacCrae is going to be a seriously good player.
- The silver fox is the ultimate sub (Daniel Giansiracusa for those of you playing at home).
- Richmond are front running over rated flogs.
- Jack Riewoldt is over rated
- Trent Cotchin is still a star
- Joel Selwood is the second best captain in the comp (behind Jobe of course)
- Geelong will be ok for the future with a solid core of kids coming through.
- Tom Hawkins will make or break Geelong this year.
- Collingwood are in serious trouble of missing the 8 this year. If they make it, could be irrelevant anyways such is the disarray they are in.
- WCE are SERIOUS contenders for the flag this year. Stars all over the ground and an attack even the Hawks of the 80's would be jealous of.
- Matt Priddis is seriously under rated. Gets the job done every week.
- Luke Dunstan SHOULD be favourite for the rising star award!
- Luke Dunstan is going to be a seriously, seriously good player.
- St.Kilda is on the right track, just need some tall defenders and another key forward.
- Nick Riewoldt is a true champion of the game and should become a 'Legend' of the St.Kilda Football Club as soon as he is eligible.

Guess one of your goals for next week would be to learn how to spell Macrae ;) :p

But very good post. Pretty much hit the nail on the head on every point, though I do rate GWS's midfield higher than WB's

Agree with pretty much your entire post, except this part. Whilst they have looked good, they have only beaten 15th, 16th and 17th from last year. I wouldn't go as far as to say that they are flag contenders, but with a healthy list I'd have them in the lower part of the 8
