Not in Vic or Tas apparently...

No, there always has been in Victoria though. This is a new thing.
Sorry, I wasn't saying it hasn't happened in the past, just that it isn't happening now.No, there always has been in Victoria though. This is a new thing.
In fact, the last time it fell on a Saturday, no extra public holiday Monday was observed. There was for the following year being a Sunday though. No, there always has been in Victoria though. This is a new thing.

Well, there we go. I wasn't in full time employment at that point of 2009, so I probably didn't notice the lack of a public holiday. In fact, the last time it fell on a Saturday, no extra public holiday Monday was observed. There was for the following year being a Sunday though.

Schools tend to do their own thing fairly frequently.I was at school at the time and we had the Friday off
Actually falls on a saturday next year...
How would i make up thje fixture? id work around it, they work around Easter every year they can work around this if they wanted to (my point is they dont, they want the moneys, which i think is poor form) They can do what they always do and schedule the game in NZ at night if they wanted.
Saturday or Sunday is the same principle. You didn't answer my question about WA Diggers - Anzac day game clashes with their ceremony.
12.30pm WST bounce?
Great, but why exacerbate them? It's a fact of life that there are time differences throughout the world.
And there are >7 times the people (and presumably veterans) on the eastern seaboard. It's exactly the kind of **** move you'd expect from this administration though, particularly after they've just spent the last year ****ing around with the fixture to the point that there were thirteen (count 'em) regular-season Saturdays with less than five games on. They couldn't give the slightest shit about anything but their bonuses and the KPIs that trigger them. It almost makes me oppose Good Friday footy, purely on the basis that they'll find some way to **** it up.

It's not hard yaco. Take a bog-standard fixture and replace the second Saturday afternoon game with any timeslot that isn't 11AM. Exactly like they've been doing all year.
So:
Friday night
Saturday afternoon for the main game
Saturday night in New Zealand, playing at twilight in Australia.
Saturday night x2
Sunday 1PM
Sunday 3PM
Sunday twilight
Monday twilight in WA, where it's a public holiday, playing at night for the rest of the country
Or throw in one of the Thursday or Sunday night games head office is so fond of.
You could say the same for the failures that have thus far been Sunday and Monday night footy. Just because they're trying doesn't mean they're any good.To be considered money grabbing, doesn't it have to, you know, grab money?
Richmond supporters banging on about making the finals. They do realise they have Adelaide in Adelaide and Sydney in Sydney in the last three rounds? They would have to win both of them.

Best thing about Richmon winning last week....they think they can make the finals until they come 9th lol...Adelaide will beat them, Sydney will flog them.
You sir, are a ******* sadist.I'd love to see them win the next 2, then be 40 points ahead of Sydney at 3/4 time and be run down, Tom Derickx to kick a goal after the siren to put them in ninth spot.
The initial motive behind NZ games is clear enough. That they're a failure and the league is too stubborn to admit that and can them is just the next step down the line of business as usual. But there's clear monetary benefit they're chasing with night football. The change to the NZ game just seems like an attempt to sideline it
And at least six more teams will get their chance. You seem to forget that teams will be queing up to play on Anzac Day - It's their chance to play on this special day.l
