That is bizzare given that McArtney refuses to play Tom Campbell who would be as effective.

I guess Casboult teases because if someone could teach him how to kick at even the low side of average for an AFL player he would be a seriously handy player.

The problem is that the players refuse to kick to Campbell when he has a clear one-on-one. It's a trend that reached its crescendo against GWS - Casboult would be a decent get for the Bulldogs - Will often get the number one defender and free up Crameri.

Do we have the results of the Bluey Truscott Medal ? Actually there are 6 B and F counts this week.

Taylor was quite flashy too though.

IMO When they vote they should break it down into two categories, consistency and impact.

How I'd rank the players in each:

Consistency:

McDonald
Aish
Taylor
Dunstan
Merrett

Cunningham
Kolodjashnij
Landon
Kelly
Bontempelli

Impact:

Bontempelli
Merrett
Taylor

Dunstan
Aish
McDonald
Landon
Kelly
Kolodjashnij
Cunningham

Taylor is a worthy winner ranking high in both categories.

You've left out Stringer who was better than some of these players.

Jumpers - Why is there no love for Green ? Always found it strange that this color has been overlooked - Remember playing juniors for the mighty Northcote Park in a predominantly green jumper.

There is the suggestion that grass is green, but I won't hear a word of it.

No, seriously, that wouldn't look overly good on television. So "they" say. I for one was constantly mystified as to why Fremantle drafted so many players that had their right arms hovering near their bodies rather than actually connected like normal folk.

Small issue of the fact he can't kick. There is a reason he rarely kicks goals, shocking technique. Kicks like a fullback!

Fair, slipped my mind. Crazy he didn't get a vote either. I think Cunningham got Merrett and Stringer type votes simply for keeping a spot in the best team, but in reality it wasn't that impressive with Sydney's injury list/stregth outside the top 20.

I thought it was pretty incredible how they could play away after being cut in half.

Television can't be the reason for lack of green though. It's not as if ye olde VFL had any teams with green on their jumpers either.

I dunno. But I'm not sure that many of the prominent cricket clubs had green in their colours... perhaps in deference to the national representation or something.

Took 'em ages to introduce the Green Ranger too. Must be a thing.

It's certainly interesting that green seemed to never even come up for consideration when GC and GWS were formulating their guernseys.

If Tasmania ever gets an AFL team, it could look similar to what Tasmanian Devils in the VFL had. Something like:

Yeah we would definitely be green if we ever got a team up and running, I would hope they wouldn't wear "the map" though as that is purely a state tradition and this would be a club, it was disgusting that the Devils in the VFL wore it for a year or two.

I have vague memories of reading some somewhat-scientific analysis about green uniforms, suggesting they're apparently harder to spot in your peripheral vision because they blend in with the field, and field-sport teams playing in green consequently have worse records than those in any other given colour.

Celtic and Green Bay seem to do alright though.

It feels like every time I hear about Stringer he's kicked 4 or 5 goals.

One thing footy can learn from Richmond 2014 is that it pays to have your best players forward. I wonder if the Dogs ought to just leave Stringer forward much in the same way Richmond has done with Martin and Deledio of late.

Maybe everyone is waiting for when Tasmania finally gets a side.

Real Betis in Spain. Always been one of my favourite kits (as long as the green is dark as in the photo above). Looks great with white or black shorts.

Think Stringer will end up as a midfielder but spend time forward. I am yet to be convinced that Stringer will be better than Bontempelli. Interesting that McRae who I rate below Stringer and Bontempelli finished 2nd in the Bulldogs B and F.
