Anyone see 360 tonight? Whately ask robbo if he though essendon fans had given up. Pretty stupid question considering we have 55k fans and we r 3rd or 4th for attendances this year.

Well it's clear Richmond have officially given up on winning finals and are now completely motivated by political correctness. Dusty Martin must be leading the charge
This has to be some of the most disgusting, gutless, spineless, small-dick syndrome I've ever seen.

Richmond players completely boycotting Triple M.

Get me off this planet, everyone is offended by everything and I'm ****in over it.

Caro has been preying on people within the AFL and it's system for years and years, costing people jobs, reputations, and more. Someone has a bit of a joke, albeit a really crap one, and look at what's happened.

Bugger this.

I'm going to live on the North Pole with Santa and Jarrod Atkinson.

I was listening to Gerard Whateley crapping on about how 'breathtaking' the punishment was. Is he kidding? 80k is chump change.

I reckon it is a ridiculous fine - Totally out of proportion with the crime and out of touch with society. Why can't you suspend Scott for one or two matches for bringing the game into disrepute.

A fine is a suitable punishment. A 2 game suspension could hurt North's 2016 campaign, that would be a stupid punishment that would impact members, players and the club when it was 1 individual making the comments.

The AFL needed to make a big statement, to ensure that people know the umpires are not to be questioned. If Hirdy got 20k for criticising a specific umpire then Brad scott and the club's fine is for criticising the umpiring department and accusing them of bias.

But using the most directly relevant example of umpire comments...

In other words, Hird in 2004. Essendon weren't fined then, only Hird was. Why would North be now?
Essendon got a $5,000 fine for that

I'd forgotten about that.

Still pales completely against 50k, even allowing for 2004 to 2016 inflation.
Maybe they "accidently" scribbled another 0..

Dont think anyone will stand up against biased umps anymore. Plus every duck, dive or stage lindsay does will be paid now.

TBF I thought anoth $20k fine would've done the job. I'm not sure what the reasoning behind fining the club $50k is however I'm sure the AFL have their reasons and it is what it is.

Do you think it sends message to all other clubs?

Ultimately Scott's comments were extremely dumb but the outcome is just another brick in the wall towards the complete Vladistanisation of the comp.

You go off message, whether it's justified, by hook or crook the AFL will get you.

The AFL have become the Illinois Nazis.

Nah, I think this is fair enough.

I'll invoke Glengarry Glen Ross: You never open your mouth until you know what the shot is (you ****ing child).

You want to participate in this competition you go through the proper channels to allege something. If everyone was allowed to cruise about attacking the standard of umpiring or anything under the sun then you would have anarchy.

Agree absolutely as far as penalising Scott.

The 50k that North were slugged is the bit I can't agree with.
