i see Mitchell still looks to be playing good football at WCE - has a game style that should allow him to go on a few more years.

Question:

Trade period last year - Mitchell calls up and says i am leaving Hawthorn, i want to come to Ess for a packet of chips

Do you have him?

Does he getting us closer to a flag outweight the arm jabbing turd like antics?

How strong is your win vs morality meter?

No. We don't need a slow, small inside mid. If he were 20cm taller and a key forward yes.

I reckon he'd be our best midfielder, he'd cost little in terms of both cap space and trade, and even though he seems like a prick it's not like he'd be a bad influence on the young players. I'd take him.

What's up with the main board being triggered about positive Essendon stories?

Should get used to Merrett making the AA team.

Can we please win the premiership purely for the melts? Watson norm smith medalist
Duh - because Essendon and its supporter base can never have nice things again. Ever.

People have reached a point where bashing the saga actually achieves something.

I mean really, what does digging into EFC actually achieve? Your life still goes on, most likely as pathetic and lonely as every other day. The smell of their insecurity seeps right through my screen.

But hey, anything for those token likes, right?

Mate they would have jumped at the chance.

I can't stand his personality but if he played for Essendon and kicked but we'd love him. Since when has anyone disliked a player that plays for their own club on the basis of how annoying their personality is? or how dirty they are for that matter. I loved Dean Wallis and he broke an 18 year old's jaw in a grand final.

Plus the arm jabbing thing was spur of the moment silliness.

Well, I guess there's some small comfort in Jobe handing his medal to a teammate.

I'd take Mitchell in a heartbeat, the man is a wizard. And the thought of Parish trying to out-strut Mitchell would be something else.

Yes.

Gather Hawthorn intellectual property and then have Walla hip and shoulder him through a plate glass window

Two quotes at the very beginning of the article stood out:

'NEW AFL football operations manager Simon Lethlean has indicated he will seldom tinker with the rules, happy with the “fast, skilful and exciting” football on show.'

Nek minnut:

'But Lethlean said he was prepared to do everything he could to lift scoring after two seasons of record low goal tallies.'

It sounds like he isn't going to change the rules, unless he has to change as many rules as possible to get his desired outcome. The more things change, the more they stay the same!
It might not boost goals but I think if you wanted to create higher scoring bring in the 9 pointer and posters that go through a goal.
Afl is so tactical these days that 9 pointers would be exciting if properly utilised if they were apart of the season. I don't know the stats of basketball bringing in the 3 pointer if scores changed but I think it would be a beneficial new rule. It may create more open forward lines as you'd get big kickers leading a bit further out from goal which means there's more room within 50.
As for the posters it makes umpiring a touch easier and will quicken up the game. Maybe if it bounced you could still make it a point. Seriously after 2 yrs of this rule would you really give a ****?

Imagine trying to review if a player was outside 50 or not when he kicked it

For entertainment purposes, fireworks for nine pointer to signify which can be called while the balls getting back to the square. It's probably the most difficult part of it especially being rounded. A timer for how long they can look into it otherwise normal 6 points. It's not like our rules atm are exact.

That was completely on Mumford and if I was Leon Cameron I would have dragged him for endangering a team mate in a practice match.
