Grant Thomas put it pretty well when he said that umpires should check their egos at the gate.
That said, abusing umpires, whether it be by players or crowd, is pretty rank... it is little wonder why it is a struggle to get umpires at community level. I mean, who wants to rock up to work and get abused my meatheads and customers all day?

But again. Umpire says something to a player and everyone loses their mind.

Happens the other way 50 times a game but its umpires that need to check their egos and shut up?
