No it's not. A player is allowed to protect his space by raising his leg. Just like it is OK to knee someone in the back of the head as hard as you like.

This season Daniher and green have both raised their boots similar to what Greene did and no free was paid.

Umpires clearly got sucked in because it was Greene who did it.

No, dude, that's not correct.

15.4.5 A Player makes Prohibited Contact with an opposition Player if the Player:
a) makes contact or attempts to make contact with any part of their body with an opposition Player in a manner likely to cause injury:
(i) above the shoulders (including the top of the shoulders)

The only provision for this to have been deemed acceptable is if it was incidental contact in a marking contest under 15.4.3e. So, yes, he could raise his leg to protect the space or even knee someone in the back of the head as hard as he likes, if it were in a marking contest. This was not a marking contest.

Geelong's performance was pretty damn good with four first year players (or rookies).

If they can play kids all year it's hard and begin the top 4 it's hard to understand why we can't.

Richmond will be pretty cheesed off if they lose this game.
That was their 'fair dinkum' test, and they didn't pass. And that's coming from someone that expected them to win.

With Selwood, Hawkins and Duncan out on paper they're better in all 3 areas of the ground and they still duffed it.

If West Coast don't do it, Sydney will with a top 4 spot up for grabs in round 23.
They smashed Richmond last year

Hird, Voss, Buckley, Ricciuto, Archer, THE G TRAIN, Chris Grant, Byron Pickett, Kouta

Richmond have won only eight of their last 50 games against Geelong - that stretches back to 1984. It's an extraordinary statistic.

That includes one stretch where they won five out of seven between 1996 and 2000. So take out that block and it's only three from 43.

In that time they've had losing streaks against Geelong of seven twice (1986-89, 2001-05) 10 (1990-96), and now the last 13 games stretching back to 2007.

It's hard to fathom, but they haven't beaten Geelong in Melbourne since 2000.

Are we really at a point in this game where the following happened last night-

1. We had a tackle penalised because a player hit his head when falling backwards. No injury. Players hit their heads multiple times during the game. You cannot start paying free kicks.

2. Media questioning whether Joey having a smile and laugh is appropriate with a childhood mate. After they have spent the last few weeks celebrating how "fun" Joe is on field. What so he isnt acting how you want him to act?
3. Questioning Hooker trying to pump up an Essendon home crowd and start a run on?

I survived 4 years of shit and never fell totally out of love with this sport. I didnt cop all that to experience this game be dominated by this crap.
