Norf has been a massive surprise for me this year , really thought they were going to have a terrible year.

Good on them
Norf are playing great today. They are starting all their attacks from the back of the square. This means Freo pushes forward to their forward 50 leaving Norf heaps of space in the midfield and their 50. Then Norf move it quickly and BOOM

To be fair besides Adel have Melb defeated anyone of note yet? I’m waiting to see if they can sustain this form leading up to the finals before I’m too impressed with them.

They usually do play well in Darwin/Alice spring anyway.

Melb is kind of reminding me of Geelong in 07. Slow start to the season but now destroying everyone
Agreed. I was big on them pre season and thought they were disappointing early in the year even though they were winning. They have all the pieces though. Key forwards, key backs, gun ruck and contested mids. Richmonds style of play will test their mettle.

Eagles can piss right off. They gifted Hawks a soft back to back flag and you know they will do the same for the Tigers at the G in a grand final.

This is easily the most even season. Moreso than last year, maybe on par with 2016.
Richmond NEED a top 2 spot because if they finish 3rd or 4th and have WCE away they are in trouble. WCE have to avoid an interstate final.
Melbourne in current form are scary but wouldn't be the first team or the last to hit a purple patch, become May premiers, and taper off by the end of the year.

But a Melbourne/Richmond final in top form would be incredible.

Perhaps. They're looking pretty good right now though.

I don't think North are. But Melbourne are in a purple patch right now and I would not want to be playing them next week...

They are going to put at least 30 goals over Footscray if the weather is decent. Its going to get messy.
It's at the dome isn't it?

Weather won't be a factor.

I reckon the top of the ladder isn't as far ahead of the rest as people think. The tigers were outplayed by StKilda for much of the game on their beloved MCG. West Coast look good but we gave them a 5 goal head start over there in our notorious post easter Monday game and we're completely killing them in the second half until injuries killed us. Melbourne are killing everyone at the moment but that Adelaide team has put in a couple of stinkers like losing by plenty to Collingwood who aren't great. It's another year without a gun team in it and it'll depend who can manage to get into a good spot and then hit finals in peak form and fitness.

Coming back from the NT though, will win but it won’t be 30 goals.

Just checked, you are right. This will get messy.

Might be some lag, but still going to be a big win unless the Doggies have something special happen this week. And I mean time travel to bring EJ Whitten, Chris Grant and Brad Johnson into their team so they only lose by 15 goals.

If Richmond finish top 2, they're a very good chance to go back to back. They play the MCG well while the interstate sides crap themselves there and now they have the experience playing and winning finals together. Will be tough to beat with the home ground advantage.
