Re Launceston - it was pleasing to read what Gil had to say when he went down their last week ( re there is some sort of crisis - no Nth West team ie Burnie and Devenport pulling out ) To think that Peter Knights was once the coach of Devenport when Mathew Richardson and Benny Gale were playing for them

What i read - what he actually said - speaking to the locals - they all want a local team in the AFL ( that is a big admission to make - and pleasing to hear ) but he said they 1st have to get their state league comp in order and strong

Contrast that to super arrogant Demetriou - who basically said - look you 10th rate scumbags - your not getting in the AFL - you can GAGF - god Demetriou was an arrogant prrick .

Don't really care for "our" own AFL club but would rather no Hawks ^^ :p would much prefer a stronger local league established and then build from there. Small steps.

I'd say they are getting sick of seeing the Dawks.

A friend in Tassie says the general feeling is they want their own side or nothing at all.
Own side thing is ridiculous IMO.

I wouldn't stop following Geelong to follow a Tassie side.

Everyone in tassie has a team and 90% would be the same as me.

No way would it survive being GC like shit for 5 years and the state isn't even developing much talent these days either.

May as well hand the flag to Tigers now. They’ll finish top 2 and won’t have to leave the MCG in the finals. Similiar to last year, they’ll play an inter-state sitting duck (West Coast) in the big dance. Easy pickings. The only way they can be stopped is if Melbourne or Geelong play and beat them in a QF. Then they will probably have to go inter-state in a prelim (West Coast).

Lever is a big loss for Melbourne. They might have to swing McDonald back with his brother. The Dee's impetus has come from Tom McDonald coming back from injury and playing forward with Hogan.

I actually think Melbourne have a massive chance to smash Richmond in a QF final if things stay as they are. Melbournes mids are as good at getting the contested ball, their forwardline is more capable and they have an AA ruck who can do everything except kick a goal from 5m out.

But who else feels that Gawn will mark, Melbourne down by 5 points, 10m out v Richmond and kicks the goal and Hudson will have another one of those "commentary" moments involving the word redemption.

Richmond aren't invincible this year. And if Caddy didn't activate beast mode the past few weeks they would be further down the ladder.
