Melbourne's mids are all different versions of the same player. One-paced accumulators with questionable footskills who all want to play the same distributor-type role. If you had one or two of them you'd be happy - on an individual basis they're decent footballers - but they don't seem to complement one another. None of them are really what you would call "receivers" you get that first or second handball after the stoppage and burst in to space. Furthermore their midfielders don't kick goals, so there's no one capable of picking up the slack when their forward line is misfiring, hence the extent to which they've been exposed this season.
