If Fogarty continues his development and performances at CARLTON then we seriously need to look at why he didn't perform at the Cats... Something his off

Probably because he played as a forward mostly. His best games in the middle at the cats were basically on par with his performance at Carlton.

Kids asked for a trade to a club where he would be best 22. After years of playing him out of position we owed it to him to make it happen.

Is it?

Melbourne won easily. Pretty reasonable to show a Melbourne player celebrating.
Maybe if it was a post by Melbourne, the AFL or another media outlet, but why not at least use an image that focuses on your own team

Not the same type of player, nor do they play the same type of role

To get the best of Fogarty he needs to be in the guts, meaning that at Geelong he'll face the same issues as Constable as too whom they keep out of the 22
Played many minutes forward and involved in a lot of score involvements. He was replaced with 33 yo Higgins. We didn’t rate him enough it seems.

He did perform. Go back to the game against North last year. He was played through the midfield and put in a similar performance to today.

But he wasn't kept in the side, and then in the off-season they needed to clear cap/list space to bring in old players like Smith and Higgins. It's a similar story to Constable. Next year he'll probably be averaging 30+ possessions playing as a pure midfielder somewhere and the same questions will arise about why he couldn't do it with us. And the answer is that he could, just like Fogarty, but a choice was made to play/bring in players near the end rather than give chances to younger guys.

Like it or not, this is part of the "all in" strategy the coaches and committee are aiming for. If Higgins and Smith do their part (and their "part" should be considerably higher than a 2nd or 3rd-year player) and we somehow jag a flag this year or next, it's paid off. If not, well...

Nothing I have seen so far this year tells me this team has a chance at a flag... Its still early though so lets see how things play out

sign of a good player when you are copping the tag and only have 6 touches to halftime. Oliver didn't stop running and was able to accumulate 17 touches in the second half

One wonders what his end of game stats would have looked like, if DeBoer hadn't been injured.

Deboer breaking down in the third may have had some say in that.

Their recruitment doesn’t look like it
Come on now, you have to trust them. They’re on a journey...

Unfortunately, the only thing that is a reality of these situations is that supporters and senior executives at these clubs are desperate for a turn around and will believe anything that is thrown at them.

The recruiting that Freo did in the last 5 year period is what they have to work with - and that was done with a different strategy in mind. They have years to go before turning it around. And by the time the new coach has set up his plans, fickle supporters will have caused him get fired. And so it will continue.

Any moment there is success in life, especially in complex environments, there is a lot of hard work, slow transition, and a clear strategy in action.
